What's new

The names that keep coming up over and over...

Are there any interesting and available talents playing in the euro leagues?

A name not so discussed is Avery Bradley. He fell out of favor in clipplerlandia and he was a top 3 and d player 2 years ago in Boston. He is defense oriented and is a career 43% 3 point shooter.

Dennis Lindsey was rumored to want him a few years ago and his contract in LA is only partially guaranteed. We LOVE defensive players as shown by every player we picked up last year. Besides that, he is owed $12,000,000 min next year and his spot was given to Shai la G (not shia LaBeouf).

I could see the clippers dumping him for a 2nd round pick or just letting him walk for the cap space to pursue big name free agents. I could see him fitting in nicely with the Jazz.

Trevor Ariza is another player that makes a lot of sense imho. He brings length, defensive presence, a veteran, and he is a free agent. He is 2 years younger than thabo but they have similar 3 point % stats. Would he be an upgrade to Thabo? I think so based on age and experience. Would he come cheaper than Thabo? I doubt it.

Avery Bradley would be a fantastic addition. Definitely a guy I see us trying to add.

He is owed $13 million for next year but he isn't guaranteed. Memphis could waive him for $2 million. I see them doing that.

I've got some pretty sweet Garbage Pail Kids cards we could talk possible trades about.

Sounds good to me!

Here's the Donovan Mitchell GPK art:

Not sure how Bradley and Ariza help Mitchell out on offense. Neither can create their own shot. I guess Ariza shoots 3s decent enough. But I thought we were interested in people who could create offense along with Mitchell rather than relying on him to get them open shots?

I'm thinking those guys are like fill out the roster/upgrade the bench types.

Like get Tobias and those guys

What's the deal with all of the rehashed ideas? There is nothing new or imaginative about anything I'm seeing from the Jazz fan base. It's falling into one of two camps: Bring back/pine for former Jazz players or continue to pine for players that have been linked via free agency or trade over the past two years.

Examples:
Hayward, Hill, Hood, Kanter, Milsap, Tobias Harris, Conley, Mirotic, Jabari, Jimmer, Wiggins, Middleton...

Do any of those players move the needle? I mean, really? I most cases, you're replacing Favors while still trying to fill the PG hole which has largely been unsolvable to DL. Shooters? Fine, but you can't spend much FA capital on shooters alone unless you have a full team to back them up. See: Philly. They were a very good team yes, but they had a Center, PG and a bunch of shooters. They needed more playmakers and got Butler and Harris.

So, what do all of the remaining playoff teams have in common? They have multiple guys that can run an offense AND set up their own shots AND are very good at that. Paul/Harden. Curry/Durant/Klay. Leonard/Lowry. etc.

How many of those guys fill that need? Harris and Conley? Harris is available, but you're still out a secondary ball handler up top with limited resources to fix that. Favors is going to be a huge part of what they do no matter what. Rubio is gone and doesn't figure into anything else other than cap space at this point.

There is nothing new or imaginative about anything I'm seeing in this post.

You know what guys... He's right. Let's just go get LeBron, KD and Steph. Problems solved. Why didn't we think of this sooner??

Don't know why the Jazz can't go after Lebron (too old?), Kawhi (screwed Dennis' old employer), Durant or Klay. Throw the max at them. Sign the first one who will sign on the dotted line!

Interesting.

But then who other than Mitchell will create off the dribble? Isn’t this seen as a priority at least as much as finding additional shooters? I seem to remember our offense going very stagnant for large portions of games without anyone able to create their own shots.
