What's new

What do you consider a "failed" offseason for the Jazz?

I consider it a fail if we are not better than the last 3 seasons. Running it back or whatever OP said sounds like it won't work out. But if it does and we are better than it is a success.

Honestly a lot of people are mad at the team and thinking we are flawed. But Houston is pushing the best team in the NBA. Win or lose they just pushed the best team in the NBA. We just lost to Houston but we lost 2 games narrowly. We also had way way way below shooting averages. Had we shot anywhere close to season averages in those 2 losses we easily win and win the series or at least push them to 6/7 game series. We were pretty close to the top. Maybe we need one more big name player, maybe we need internal growth, maybe we need a few more solid role players. I dont know but we need to be better next year to consider it an improvement.

Right now my expectations are so low that I don't see how I can be disappointed.
...
So, my sights are set to the worst possible option as being the most probable. They do anything more than that and I'll be surprised and happy. They go the absolute minimum route and I will just be getting what I expect.

The key to happiness is low expectations

I'm not expecting anything big, just the same ole charades DL plays. He'll probably bring back somebody like Favors then say 'we tried in the free agency but no luck once again.' My expectations are low as well.

Outside of signing Kemba or a surprise trade for a legit talent like Jrue I think I'm going to be various levels of disappointed regardless of what happens to be honest. It what it is though.

As I said many times prior , if DL pulls this again he should get fired.

Pulls what again? How the **** is he supposed to magically attract top end free agents to snowy Utah?

Selling Donovan and Gobert. Throwing crazy amounts of money toward free agents. Giving resources for trades. Losing the excuses and his too conservative approach.

1. Yeah, I’m sure he doesn’t sell Gobert and Donovan in his pitches. Probably focuses in on Bradley and Tomic instead. Stupid Lindsey.
2. “Crazy money” meaning what? You know we can sign a free agent and in the process, go over the cap right? So yeah, the “crazy money” he’d spend is limited in that sense.
3. We have no ****ing resources.
4. You’re dumb.

The norm.

Typical.

Routine .

Serious now, if they don't package picks 23 and 53 to move up for Zion and jettison Ricky so they can sign Kyrie or Kemba, and add a solid three and d wing like Klay or Kawii, and trade Korver and Mitro-Long for an overpaid stretch 4 like Kevin Love or LeBron James, and sign Jimmer then it will be a failure.

I mean selling the free agents on the star power of Donovan and Gobert.

We have money with Korver off the books (if he agrees to a trade or retires), let go of Ekpe, Thabo etc. Rubio comes off the books Trade Exum. Draft picks. Filler do you comprehend this concept ?

If we dont get any big names by the 6th yes by offering crazy money - then we go back with Favors.

Hopefully you can grasp this idea. If not you are dumb.

Geez cranky in the morning ?

Go after Tobias, Kemba. Go after Conley again ( thanks DL for keeping Exum and destroying this chance)
