What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Throw the max at Brogdon... They're going to want to have enough $$ for Middleton. IDK if they'd match Brogdon to a max.

That would be hinging your entire franchise on him (because you're overpaying and your capspace is tied up whether you actually get him or not).

He's high on my list, but not for the max, and not someone you pursue until other more desirable and more time-pressing options (I would still reach out to Kawhi, then Tobias, Klay, Kemba, and Butler) have evaporated. If Brogdon hasn't signed with anyone by then, then I'd check with him.

Brogdon seems like a nice player, but more of a complimentary guy. I think we need a guy who can score the ball more than a guy who can hit open shots. We need another 18-19+ ppg scorer. Surround whoever that is and Donovan with Ingles and O'Neale with Gobert as a lob threat, then we have a complete offense.

Chances we can retain Rubio as our back up PG? Would he be willing to come off the bench, take a pay cut and play with our 2nd string boys so that we won't miss a beat? Rubio coming in with our 2nd string boys would keep our offense humming....plus he would be added protection if our 1st string PG goes out or down for any length of time, whomever it may be! How much would it take to keep Rubio as our 2nd string point guard, financially? Is it even plausible?

How does he keep our offense humming? You still have the problem of him being a non-shooter. Who are the 4 sharpshooters you'd need to have on the court with El Brickio? And Ricky isn't even that great a defender anymore. I wouldn't want him back for even the MLE.

Is DL smart enough to "leak" that we want to keep Favors to increase his trade value? Or do we actually want to keep him? I'm guessing its probably the latter.

I've completely lost all hope in this offseason.

I still believe in Rozier. This was a bad season for both him and the Celtics. However, I think he brings a different set of skills than Rubio. He has less of a need for the ball, would be considered more of a shooting threat and he is a better defender.

If we could mold him into our version of Patrick Beverley or Avery Bradley, I think he is a good addition.

The addition would all come down to how much he costs. Too high, and it could be awful. Terry at a fair price could be brilliant. We could potentially be buying low on a guy who just needs to leave that Celtics drama.

Why would you waste time and effort reaching out to Kawhi, Butler they are not coming to Utah even in your wildest dreams. Attack the next level free agents and overpay and make trades. That’s the solution gif the Jazz.

Why not just keep Rubio who is MUCH better than Rozier in almost every facet of the game? This would be horrible.
The only situation I'm OK with Rozier is if Utah signs Harris and Rozier comes here for the bi-annual exception. But even then I'd want Exum to play more minutes and I'd rather have a handful of other veteran PGs on the market. So why would he sign here and why would Boston not just match something that low if they like him at all (which they seem to)?

Like outside of the health concerns I have on Neto, I think Neto is a much better PG than Rozier. And even with Exum's health concerns and severe shooting limitations, I think he's a better PG than Rozier.

Rozier is nowhere close to the defender Rubio is.

Rozier has a very overrated reputation as a defender. The only thing Rozier provides over Rubio is outside shooting, but he isnt consistent enough from there to have it be a huge plus.

The only other thing he is even good at is rebounding from the guard position.
