What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Yep. He is a long term piece who makes 1/3 of what Conley makes. And he is 9 years younger. And he is signed for 3 years.

We need to build for a long term future around Donovan not make a knee-jerk move to get back to the 2nd round. Conley is a good player, but we need so much more.

Shortsighted.

Expirings and a first don’t get Winslow. So we mortgage additional assets because he makes 1/3 as much? He’s 1/3 as good as Conley.

I get it... I prefer to get younger guys too, but teams don’t give those guys up for what we are willing to pay.

I agree. By trading for Conley, we lose every chance to sign Tobias or Kemba or any other. Pass on Conley.
According to others we could trade for Conley and sign Harris if the Conley deal goes right.
I'm really interested to see what this means for Kyle Kuzma and Julius Randle.
What does Kuz have to do with it?
All depends on AD right? I just read a report that AD still wants out. If I had to guess, NOLA trades AD to NY for #3, NY 2021, and something else.

Jrue, Barrett (#3), Zion, Randle and somebody like JJ Redick.
Doubt they resign Randle with Zion coming in.

I know you got a chubbie for Conley right now, but go get some rest. You are getting silly.

If Royce used as many possessions as Justise his numbers might look awfully similar.

Justise is fine but it is rare to find guys that can put up the volume Conley does and be super duper effecient and be a plus defender.

Conley isn’t young, cheap, or going to play another position.

Swapping out Conley for Rubio financially, basketball smarts, basketball fundamentals, and team concept is ridiculous! We are so much better off keeping Rubio to run our team that it's not even funny!

No would have to sign Harris and then trade for Conley... the order is crucial... it is very very very unlikely. More likely either/or... but...

Say we sign Harris in the offseason then Memphis stupidly waits to trade Conley until the trade deadline... we could have more cap fodder to include at that point and everyday they wait the price goes down on Conley because of the threat of injury or opting out. He won’t get the full $35M he’s owed by opting out but could easily recover the money over a 2-3 year deal and get to pick where he plays.

Well then ****. I make 1/20 what Mitchell makes. Sign me up.

There’s shortsighted v blind going on.

Justice Winslow is in no way any part of the answer.

Stahp. You need an intervention

LoPo, this is a safe space, we all love and care for you. But you have to stop!

K... when you run out of things to pull out your *** I guess you go to insults.

It’s 8:30 on the west coast... I’m just about to hit my second wind... no silliness here at all.

Conley’s next two years are likely better than any two years Justise has over his career.

Makes sense

Conley maybe gets us to the 2nd round next year just to get paid even more and decline even more going into his expiring year.

Awesome long term plan for maybe a trip to the West Conference Finals. Set that bar high HH. Set it high.

Justise played less games than Conley last year... over the last 4 years Justise has played all of 20 more games than Mike.

Mike is not an iron man like Joe Ingles but outside of 2016-2017 he’s played most of the season.

If we moved Exum in the Conley deal that is some bad salary we get off the books... in reality Mike costs in the mid 20s for that scenario.

So if we don’t spend the cap on a real player that can play real minutes, we should spend that money on Favors because what else are we supposed to do.

But that doesn’t apply to an efficient 20 PPG two-way player because... why?

Justise gets us knocked out in the first round the next 3 years with the hopes of making it to the second round someday...

I can make **** up too...

I can’t follow your logic at all. Justice Winslow, Terry Rozier, Vince Carter, or Derrick Favors are going to bring us to title contention but not a guy that’s a proven franchise player?

He’s 31 and guys can’t be good at basketball in their 30s.

We’d rather use 9.6M on Exum $12m on Favors and sign some middling free agent than have an all star level pg...

We should max the effs out of Russell too... who again may someday be as good as Mike is now but not likely.

Relax everyone. Jazz can get Conley and Winslow for Tony Bradley, Exum and a couple of second round picks.

This making stuff up could become addicting.
==================================
I got a feeling there's gonna be much bewilderment on this board by July7.

I predict a meltdown when jazz land Darren Collinson, Dwayne Dedmon and Danny Green.

Maybe Spirits will rise when jazz sign Demare Carroll in early august.
