How Did Draft Lottery Impact Jazz

The Laker's "talent" is crap, as is the #4 pick in a two person draft. I wouldn't even give Tatum for that offer let alone Davis. Davis > Tatum > Laker's crap. I do fully expect the Pelicans to feign interest in the Lakers offer to drive up the price for Davis. But Tatum + Zion + Jrue + whatever else you can pry out of the Celtics is better than whatever you would get out of LA. That isn't even beginning to touch other offers that might be available.

I think Ingram, Ball (he still has value even if you send it elsewhere), Kuzma, Hart, #4 (still has a lot of value even in a **** draft), plus multiple future firsts (you know they will put them on the table), is a good offer.

Boston won't do a Tatum deal if Kyrie bolts.

NY's offer is #3, Smith, Robinson, Knox, the two Dallas picks, and maybe their own picks?

Clips SGA, Shamet, Gallo, Miami pick, Philly pick, their own pick, maybe like Harrell

I think I prefer the NY offer, but the case for the LA offer isn't bad. I still like Ingram if his health condition isn't career threatening.

Kuzma is the only asset the Lakers have that I’d really be interested in and I don’t think he’s an All star type of guys.

New York is a better offer because the pick guarantees you 2/3 of the top players in this draft to build around. Depending on what other assets are included, that would clearly be my preferred trading partner - especially since they’re in the East.

If Boston doesn’t put Tatum in the offer, I don’t even consider them. I’d roll the dice on NY or see if a surprise team comes out of the woodwork (like Toronto last year with Kawhi.)

See, I would think that Kyrie leaving would force Boston to do something other than "consolidate resources." I'm not sure they are set for another 3 or 4 year rebuild. If those resources gets you 6 years of Anthony Davis, in a Lebronless East, you have to do that, no? I'm sure they would somehow want to package Hayward into the deal though. Clearing Hayward and adding Davis instead is well worth losing Tatum for.

So after watching Kyrie leave for nothing they put Tatum and the Memphis pick in a trade for AD in hopes that he likes playing with Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart and will re-sign... nah that’d be dumb AF.

I’d probably make that trade (depending on other assets included for NO) for either side. Ideally, they’d want Tatum, Brown, Smart (for salary matching purposes) and draft picks. If Hayward is in the deal, I’d demand more draft pick assets for taking on the 60+ million left on his contract.

I mean you would have to get him to agree to an extension as part of the deal. He probably would as Boston would have his Bird Rights. If NO wants that Memphis pick, they would probably have to take back Hayward, which wouldn't hurt them at all as they would have a lot of low salary players. Hayward would look better on that NO team than he looks on Boston.

Do you really see Boston going on another 3 year rebuild? Do you see players signing there for the opportunity of playing with Tatum? If they want to compete, Boston will need to make trades, because their current core without Kyrie isn't going anywhere, now or in the future.

Other than Holiday, who else would NO be paying? Hayward's contract rolls off before you have to really pay Zion or Tatum. Your window is a few years from now, you won't need major free agents yet.

Why would AD sign his extension? He has Jrue and Zion in NO... what does he have in Boston once they empty the cupboard to get him. Boston is out of the AD sweepstakes if Kyrie bails... I fully stand by that prediction. AD and Horford or AD and Gordon plus Brown, Rozier, Smart aint winning ****. He could sign a bigger extension with NO than Boston... so money aint better, team ain't better... Ainge knows the deal which is why he is still firmly in the "we want Kyrie back" mode.

I don’t disagree at all - I’m just saying that he’s a negative asset at this point because of his injury, ineffectiveness and salary. I’d make them pay for it if they want to dump him instead of using Brown/Smart (who both have more upside.)

I honestly think it would be good for Hayward to rehab his image and brand after his disastrous exit from Utah and his being scapegoated in Boston. If I were him, I’d be all for getting traded away right now.

Because Boston isn't New Orleans for starters. And a Boston without Kyrie and Hayward could be in the market for another free agent. Free Agents actually sign in Boston. They might even be able to get Conley.

AD had burned his bridges in NO, and NO isn't trading him to the Lakers, what do you have left?

That Clippers offer is STRONG and in my opinion would trump Boston. NO could then flip Gallo and Jrue for younger assets/picks and have the best young core in the NBA.

I like this better than the Lakers package for sure, especially as the Lakers assets have to be paid sooner.

Is there any chance we can trade for the #3 pick? I really like RJ Barrett and if the Knicks do get Irving and Durant I can't imagine them keeping the pick. This is situation almost never happens, and when it does it is the be best opportunity to get a high draft pick.

I would literally offer anything/everything of value on the team except DM and Rudy (Favors, Ingles, Crowder, Korver, Allen, O'Neale, future 1st, etc.). It really sucks but I don't think we have enough assets to get the pick even if it was available.

If the Pels don't set up a trade ASAP and drag out negotiations either LAL or BOS is going to be screwed. All the big name players will have agreed to new contracts and there won't be anybody left after the AD sweepstakes have concluded.

That is the way to engage Boston imo… do it before FA so they can entice Kyrie to stay.

If I was NO I'd accept Hayward, Tatum, #14, Memphis pick (maybe one more pick this year) for AD and Solomon Hill. I think the hate has gone too far on Hayward and he will be good (not Utah good) again next year. Holiday, Hayward, Tatum, Zion, Moore or a center is a pretty solid starting lineup. You also have a couple other solid picks.

Sort of like your Otto Porter, Jr narrative. Good job, genius.
What was that narrative? Was it something about how Washington was gonna sell, and that we needed to be there for the moment they had their typical aneurism? Sounds about right to me.
