Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

A classic case of letting need weigh too heavily on the decision. We desperately needed a PG. Earl Watson and Jamal Tinsley were our PGs at the time.

Yeah, but we were tanking that following year anyway. We could have given ourselves another year to grab a PG.

Dennis really shines in these flat drafts where other GMs have a hard time discerning talent. Remember 2013 was the weakest draft ever and it produced an MVP and DPOY.

Hopefully those rumors that DL liked Giannis are *painfully* true and our boy really does have an eye for talent like that. I think Dennis might have his eye on someone based on his comments about liking a few guys in our range.

And if he doesn't like anyone he'll punt and trade like he did for Hill. Of course he should have punted in 2015 instead of taking Lyles, who none of us had a real good feeling about.

Windler, despite not being the greatest run/jump athlete you'll ever see, actually has a very good first step. A first step that really isn't proportionate with his athleticism. Or maybe his first step isn't that great, just guys don't respect him. Either way i was always impressed when i watched Belmont how adept he was at beating guys off the dribble.
Really? I was the opposite. Dude is way too upright and has a high dribble. I don't see him being any kind of on ball threat.

Let me be clear that I think Nickeil Alexander-Walker is absolutely worth drafting and worth moving up 7-10 picks to get.

NAW gives me very similar vibes to what I saw when I was watching Dejounte in college. Very slippery and gets in the lane almost on a whim. He can also shoot better than Dejounte used to in college.

I would be very happy if we managed to get him.

Any Naz Little fans? I think he's the guy I'd want if we moved into the late lotto. I think he might go top ten. DX did the comparison of his measurements to Jaylen Brown... dude seems like the type that could succeed at a very high level if he gets a jumper. He may end up being more Stanley Johnson (I liked him a lot and still can't believe that he sucks and it makes me a little sad), but I think he has a high ceiling.

I think Bazley might be in play at #23. He's big, long and twitchy. He's got a tight dribble and quick pull-up jumper with a high release that's pretty money. He moves really well and has better balance and a better lower body than Louis King. He stayed with Jordan Bone on a semi-break and got a block at the rim. That showed timing. He's got some upside. ESPN had him ranked as their #13 prospect before he opted out of Syracuse and the G-League. He's a first-round talent.

Also, if there's a Kyle Kuzma in this draft, it's probably Isaiah Roby. I think he'll be a decent rotation player for someone.

He's not as crafty with the ball as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but he's a better, more confident shooter. He'd be a nice complement to Mitchell if Mitchell is going to have the ball in his hands a lot. NAW can probably guard 3 positions.

The question is his shooting and his feel, but he's probably going to end up being the Justise Winslow of this draft in 2 years. His best position is at the 4, and he'll probably look okay putting the ball down with NBA spacing. I think he's gone 8 - 10 picks ahead of us. I don't think we have enough to move up to the lotto.
