What's new

With Houston offering up their entire roster...

Didn't see that this has been somewhat addressed in the GM thread, but still think this could use it's own thread.

Capela seems uniquely useless in Utah, even worse fit with Gobert than Favors. I have no idea how they'll be valuing CP3, if they think he's positive value on that contract then unlikely to be worth it, if they think he's neutral/negative I think it could be worth thinking about. Harden obviously isn't moving, and they'd be fools to move Tucker on that deal (sure ask, but it'd be so unexpected). Gordon just isn't very exciting as a soon to be expiring 31 year old.

So I guess I'd look into CP3/Tucker, but CP3 is the only one I see any chance on and it's an extremely long shot.

No interest in anyone on that roster here. Unless they wanna trade us Harden lol. Capela doesn't fit. I don't want Crybaby Paul. Gordon is regressing. Tucker is overvalued by some fans. He wouldn't be as good outside of the D'Antoni system.

Gordon murdered us... he literally attempted murder on DM (no fouls were called). For reals though Gordon started slow but was excellent in the playoffs and would be fantastic for us. I don't think we have a good mix of players to send back. But maybe...

Morey is trying to get fired and trades him to us for like Exum and 4 second round picks and cash considerations. Fertitta after learning Exum is ded fires Morey and he finds a better job.

Agree Capela is absolutely worthless for Utah. Paul's contract is so expensive that I'd expect a lot of compensation from Houston just to absorb that albatross. Paul's contact puts Houston is a very tough spot.

This should be called the "who would be the 3rd team" thread. We should have no interest whatsoever in Chris Paul or Clint Capella.

Of course he wants to trade an aging Paul and overpaid Capela. He will find zero takers for Paul and a limited market for Capela.

Let them eat their awful cap issues themselves while Harden’s prime erodes.
Except Capella is on a GREAT deal. Not that that has any bearing on our interest.

If the Jazz picked up Chris Paul it would free up a great deal of my time that I invest in watching and following the team. I couldn't bear to watch his antic's with the flopping and whining on every play with a clear conscience. I simply could not tolerate him on our team. I'd have to take up something far more productive than being a Jazz fan.

Paul will go to the Lakers if Kyrie doesn't.

I don’t see how... Lakers could do Lonzo plus space for Paul but the salary matching is a big problem if they can get a yes from Butler or some other free agent.

Not sure what that does for Houston. They might be trying to clear max space for someone I guess.

I think that's what they want. They won well without Paul so I think perhaps they're thinking of ways they can fine tune the roster.
