Jazz Mini-Camp

Plenty of players improve and dont get drafted higher.

Take UCLA dudes like Jaylen Hands and Kris Wilkes. They both went back, got better, and still arent first round picks. Each of them lost career earnings not leaving school. Your chances of becoming a first round pick dont improve by staying in school.

neither were first round picks last year but at least bet on themselves and showed some sophomroe improvement. ucla (and the pac-12 in general) was also a dumpster fire this year which didn't help. they lost maybe 1 year of g-league salary; going back to school was worth the risk.

Maybe? You mean at minimum

From NBA 3 after a NBA workout?

Probably not but i am 42 years old and have probably only shot a basketball a couple times on the last 5 years.

Im quite certain that i could at any time between the ages of 17-25 though.

Im never impressed by nba prospect who can shoot 50% from 3 ungaurded not in an actual game. Unless they are known to be really crappy shooters. Like gobert or something.

I really doubt you could after going through a NBA workout.

You might be right. Hard to say as I have never been through one.

I could ball for like 6 hours straight back in those days though. No timeouts, no free throws, just continuous ballin. It's all I did. I never went to class cause I was always in a gym (basketball destroyed my education lol. I couldn't even graduate from my high school). At home you could always find me in my back yard hooping.
I was in phenomenal shape back in those days.

My man.

It’s my goal to dunk again when 45 y/o. I’ll be 44 this summer and have been getting into shape. More than anything I need to start balling though to get my bounce back.

And by dunk, I mean dunk with some style. Not I barely got the ball over the rim and down.

Good luck bro.
My dunking days are over. Would probably hurt myself just trying

Yep. I’ve tried to be smart. Gradually getting into shape. Just finished building a retaining wall and was wheelbarrowing around 160 pounds of topsoil today which didn’t feel THAT heavy so I’m getting there. Need to just keep my legs fresh, mix up the activities, and listen to my body.

I play in rec-level leagues most years. Last year I wasn't able to play on a team but I still practiced every other week or so with my friends (since I got laid off I had other things on my mind). So Saturday I met some guys from my ward at the church for a few pick-up games. We played a bit and a few of us stayed after to shoot around for fun. I decided to try this out so we walked off what would be close to NBA range or a little beyond. I shot from top of the key and hit 12 of 20 on my first go. On my second I hit 14 of 20. I'm 49 and fat. So yeah 50% from a pro prospect in those circumstances not real impressive.

Maybe you are just better than you think. Maybe just maybe you are an NBA level player but just don't realize it. I'm betting that's it.
