What's new

Jimmy Buckets gonna get MAX. Tobias Utah Bound?

It was literally that we were the highest bidder and no other reason imo.

Denver at least had a lot of space and signed Kenyon Martin after we got Boozer. They would have at least matched what we paid Boozer. We won't know because Boozer was already signed before anybody knew he was on the market. Also, I forgot that Boozer had already been named to the Olympic team before he signed with the Jazz.

you reckon ? I mean i'm still not super optimistic but if the reports are that he doesn't want to go back to Philly are true we have some kind of small chance. I'd assumed he'd re-up with Philly until now
Do you have a link to that? Haven’t come across it yet.

I reckon. People optimistic about signing Harris or Kemba are setting themselves up for disappointment and I'm sure a lot of them will take it out on the FO. ****, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't even get a meeting or phone call with Kemba. It will be awesome if one of them signs, but our biggest FA signing in the last decade is 35 year old Joe Johnson. We're also competing with some serious markets who can offer the same (or better) contract as us. I think a lot of people will be disappointed if we get Conley when I think they should be ecstatic if that happens. Guys like him shouldn't be considered a consolation prize or a failure of the FO because I just don't think landing a marquee free agent is that realistic.

Yeah I wasn't specifically calling you out, just seems like a lot of people are kind of on the "Harris or Kemba or bust" train and anything else is a failure. Those people are just setting themselves up for anger/disappointment.

Corey Maggette needs to be in the discussion of the biggest Jazz free agent signings. Same agent that delivered us Boozer the following summer.

How about Jason Terry?

Didnt tobias Harris say in a tweet that he wouldnt mind playing in Utah? It was a couple years back I think

If tobias likes winning Utah would be a great place.

If he wants to be in the playoff Utah is a great place

If he likes money utah can pay what most others, except philly can pay.

If he likes stats and becoming a potential all star Utah might be the best destination as he will be part of a 1 to 2 punch in Utah. Others he might be the 3rd option.

Honestly I think uath has as much shot as any other team in the NBA.
