That's a good rotation especially if Exum can get and stay healthy and not suck (big if).

Not championship level but maybe wcf level and you never know what happens at that point. Maybe the jazz get hot for a series or the opponent goes cold or gets key injuries.


I would be very happy if that was our rotation next year.

Would still rather get Tobias, Malcom, Russell, etc in free agency but I would be good with the loss of favors and Rubio and addition of Conley and Niko. I think we would be a better team next season. Hell, just replacing Rubio with about anyone makes us better imo

If we want to win sooner rather than later I think Conley is the best option. Apart from being an excellent player, he brings a ton of experience and veteran leadership. We were lacking some of that in close games this season, where the default seemed to be panic mode. He should be a steadying influence, as well as a good guy for Donovan to learn from.

Conley makes us better. Conley by himself at the cost of Rubio, Favors and a draft pick makes us only marginally better IF he stays healthy. Getting Conley would have to be part of some larger scheme for it to be worth it.

If we get Conley we will also make some other smaller moves. He’s a damn good player and of Harris, Dlo, etc. he is the guy that is most likely to be a championship piece in the next two years... he addresses exactly what we need... he’s not 22... but he doesn’t make us marginally better if healthy... he makes us a ****ing giant if he’s healthy.

FVV is a not a good comp for Edwards. He’s a defensive guy that’s tough as nails that became a decent shooter.

I like how some of you guys do zero to account for progression. Carsen might become a better defender. 3 years ago (when he was older than Carsen), VanVleet was a nobody. Carsen has the size, build and ability to become a scrappy defender like FVV. And he has already shown potential of being a shooter.

No comp is perfect. Carsen could eventually play a similar role to what VanVleet played this year.

Look I get it... it’s not a super team but right now there is no super team... need to strike now while there is a window... 5-7 year builds don’t work. You get the major pieces in place and go for it.

Harris might be option 1 but Conley is option 2... if option 2 is available now you do it and focus in on filling in the rest of the roster.

I'm talking role, not clone. VanVleet brings heart, scrappiness, and clutch shooting. Did you watch Purdue in the tourney? Carsen seems to be that kind of guy. Not exactly VavVleet, but that role.

I did... trey Burke had a nice tourney run too. I’m not going to confuse heart for a guy getting hot. FVV is a dawg... undrafted and just an effing dawg... not saying Carsen isn’t good... just not going to compare guys to FVV because he’s so unique. Edwards can be a scorer off the bench type... I will gladly trade that for Conley.
