Kings hiring former Jazz Assistant Coach Igor Kokoskov as an Assistant Coach

I wonder why he went to Sac. Possibly Luke gets fired with his sex scandal. Really wish Quin would've got him back.

The Kings are a far stronger "darkhorse" candidate than ppl realize these next few years... They are actually quite loaded tbph..

In Fox u have a franchise PG. In Heild u have a premier floor spacing option and with Bagley u have a PF who can score thru double-teams, who takes it coast-to-coast and has expanding perimeter repertoire... and several more nice pieces..

Yeah and you guaranteed they'd make the playoffs last year. **** off.

I do not understand. This makes me sad.

I’m still on the Hornacek or Jarron Collins train, and yes, I do care about culture, history, and tradition. It’s also possible to care about those things while looking for legitimate high-level basketball minds with a breadth of experience.

It would be really, really hard going back to your old job after taking a better job. Sometimes it is better to change scenery completely.

Probably a faster track to another head coaching job. Vlade changes coaches more often than he changes his underwear.

I think it's safe to say at this point Coach Quin is locked in like Coach Sloan was - no sense coming back to Utah.

Either that or Vivek just offered him more money.

That's only if the old job had a bad environment. If it was a good one, which is certainly seems like it was, there should be no issue going back. I'm sure the Jazz/Quin would welcome him back with open arms in fact!

And in Vlade, you have a GM who confuses 'shrewdness' with stupidity. Ask Dennis what he thinks of Vlade? That franchise has been in shambles for a LONG time and methinks that they will manage to return in short order. Nice young talent but no captain at the helm.

He was essentially lead assistant with Quin. Jensen has stepped into that role. And, yes, with Walton being uncertain, this gives him more options going forward.

He would still be stepping back into the "little brother" role. I had a great childhood, but I still don't want to move back home. Especially with Jensen sleeping in his old room.

I'm sure if D Lindz could speak honestly off the record he'd rave about what Vlade has done of late.. they did get lucky hitting the lotto last year.

The Buddy Heild trade for Cousins is looking outrageously lopsided and buddy is still on rookie scale next szn..

Fox is literally the best young floor general in the league, 17 - 7 ast at 21 and makes it look ez.

When it comes to the kings moving forward, it's very simple, if Marvin Bagley is good, sorta like Siakam... He's gonna make a lot of ppl look smart in Sactown, especially Vlade.

Marvin Bagley isn't Siakam. He's a new age Kenyon Martin. I said it before the draft last year and I still think so.

Except that's a terrible comparison.

I was manager over a guy who had previously been my manager but had left for a better opportunity. That company went under after a few months and he was rehired at a slightly diminished role. It was miserable for him and he left a couple of months later, even though the nature of his work hadn't changed much, and nobody sought to hurt him other than fill his previous role.

How long has Vlade been on the job? He's turned that franchise around. FINALLY they got rid of Boogie. He was criticized for getting ***** in that trade. But the reality is, Ranadive meddles. Remember him thinking he could translate some of his genius coaching from girl's basketball to the NBA by having one player cherry-pick? How did that work out?

Vlade has done a decent job. I remember him saying he had a better deal in place for Cousins, but Ranadive was obsessed with Hield. Kings aren't unlike the Jazz. They hit rock bottom at 27 wins and are in position to continue to get a lot better.

Snyder couldn't really rehire Kokoskov in his previous role because that would require demoting several coaches, or really all of them, on the current staff. That wouldn't go over very well.

He is smart to stay in the league. Coaches that sit for a year or two with their buyout are often never heard from again.
