News, rumors and buzz around the draft and free agency

Horford and Barnes declining their options is a very clear sign to me that we shouldn't trade for Conley. He has a player option next summer. He could have a very good year with us then just bolt next summer. If he doesn't bolt, maybe he forces our hand to re-sign him to some crippling number. There are already rumors that Miami is very high on Conley. They will have a ton of space next summer and a need for a PG. I could definitely see him leaving and signing there.

Russell will have multiple suitors, including Indiana, Dallas, Phoenix, Utah and possibly New York. Guys around the league (not just David Locke) think that Phoenix is the likely destination for D'Lo.

Source on D'Lo and Phoenix? Tony Jones and Ian Begley have both said Indy is the favorite.

We would be telling the world we don't want Hayward. I guess we could say "maybe", wait a few hours, then write a letter to the Celtics telling them how much we appreciated their offer, but we decided not to take it.

So, you’d turn your back on a player that is as good as any player we can get, who fits in perfectly with this team...

To save face? To be cool?

Nah. No thanks.

I’d be disappointed if the Jazz did take him back. This is one the fan base will never forget. Sometimes you just gotta prove a point.

At $30+ million, he is not better than Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell or even Royce O'Neale.

I would rather trade for....

Ilyasova (pick up a 1st rounder in the process)
Josh Jackson
Meyers Leonard (probably get an asset too)
MKG (probably get an asset too)
Marvin Williams (probably get an asset too)
Some of the Miami guys (probably get an asset too)

No thanks to Hayward.

Pacers are targeting Rubio (per The Ringer), which makes it all the more clear that we're confident we can get someone better.

Really? Because Indy is reportedly our primary competition for Conley. That means they're bowing out of the Conley sweepstakes.
