What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

There is a way to get Horford, Conley and keep Favors. Imagine what this team could do with Conley, Donovan, Mitchell and a front court trio of Gobert, Favors and Horford. We would be instant contenders.

Um...what? Horford, Favors and Gobert?!?!

If Minnesota gets desperate for space to pursue Russell, I'm interested in Teague, Covington and Saric. Or Teague, Saric and #11 for #23.

This summer is crazy.

Me too. I like saric and Covington quite a bit and even like teague a little (would rather have teague than Rubio) and the 11th pick would be nice

I'm fine with Teague. Decent player. Averaged 8+ assists per game last year. Can score the ball too.

Teague, Saric and Covington combine to make $33. It's possible we do other wheeling and dealing to try to keep Favors too. If we traded Korver, Bradley, renounce Neto and Niang, we could have $10+.

I don't think Favors is for sure coming back... I think the Jazz will probably be aggressive during the first few days of FA to see if they can upgrade at the position.

Favors is 50/50 coming back. The Conley news I'm sure has made a few free agents reconsider some things.

Here is what I think happens... we can shop the contract during the draft... see if anything turns up... can kick the tires on some stretch 4 or wing options with 17M... Rudy Gay, Niko, Jamychal Green... If you can nab one at a decent value you waive Favs and then use the leftover space and room exception for center and backup guard.

If you come up empty you just keep him and swear that was the plan all along.

My guess is we are more likely than not to keep him... but there are some interesting possibilities.

Say Sacramento wants him as a one year starter... move him for Bjelica... then they can save some additional space... we get a cheap stretch option and have 10m left to work with.

Boston may want some certainty and has some extra picks... I doubt they’d give up 22 but stranger things have happened on draft night.

Charlotte may want to impress Kemba... maybe Williams and their second for Favs.

I hope we kick all the tires but my guess is it will be very superficial and then we’ll just keep Favs.
