What's new

Jazz are emerging as serious threats to sign Bojan Bogdanovic

Well, if this somehow goes through, I guess we'll get to exchange our anxieties about shooting/scoring for anxieties about rebounding. Rudy's great, of course, but our presumable starting lineup's guards are average at best (probably a little lower), and our forwards are decidedly poor.

Can we def do a double S&T and get Conley and Bojan while keeping Favors as a couple have said.

That makes no sense to me. We’d be over the cap and you can’t complete trades and end up over the cap.
Keeping Favors, no. Getting a full MLE (almost $10), yes.

It's complicated, but possible.

Favors Mem $, Indy $ to Sacramento
Rubio, a Sac 2nd, Mem $ to Indy
Bojan, Conley, Sac $ to Utah
KK, Grayson, Crowder, Utah picks, Indy $, Sac $ to Mem

Every team must get something from every other team in a multi team trade. The $ would represent the absolute least $ needed. So Sac gets Favors for a 2nd (wow) and Indy gets a 2nd for Bojan (better than nothing).

ROYCE

I'm not a fan of the nickname Bogie, but we could use the following to make Boler's life easier

Co, Do, Joe, Bo, Ro and Go. Exum could be No depending on your opinion of him lol...

God, thanks for reminding me in the off-season Bolers commentary still exists.

Why the **** would the Pacers do this? They’ll sign Rubio outright and reup Bojan after renouncing Evans, Young and Co.
Only reason I could think of is Bojan goes to them and says "hey I'm going to Utah" and Indy works out a last minute deal. Cavs got some 1st rounders from the Heat in 2010 when LeBron left for example.

But even then that's a stretch, I don't see why they do the S&T for Rubio either. Maybe there's some cap gymnastics they can do where they could in a perfect world for them pick up Tobias Harris for the max and then S&T Bojan for Rubio to get both of their guys while being over the cap but I would think Bojan's cap hold gets in the way of their max room?

I’m with you.

I’m not sure why people are talking about these trades with the pacers and Rubio... Yeah I just... can’t.

Or we offer him something like 21-22M (not sure how much we have before opting out of Favors) and the Pacers don’t want to go that high.

Would we have taken a 2nd rounder for Hayward over losing him for nothing? I would have.

In this messed up highly unlikely 4 team trade, Indy gets something for Bojan rather than nothing.

Looking up these figures on the go from my phone on crawling internet is difficult, so apologies for being sloppy on my figures with everything for the last few weeks, but:

Pretty sure they’d have to renounce Bogdanovic’s caphold to make any serious moves, which would make the Jazz very competitive and possibly even at an advantage depending on how things shake out.

I don’t know how feasible the double S&T thing is because of that.

Jazz basically have nothing before opting out of Favors as far as I know because the Jazz are using leftover cap space pre-waived Favors to absorb Conley's deal without giving up extra pieces. If the Jazz used that capspace to grab Bojan then you'd still have to waive Favors + throw in Exum into the Conley deal too to make it work (I think).

I think 18 mil and a longer term deal is more than competitive vs a shrewd Indiana ownership who don't really like giving guys big long term contracts unless they're star players.

Make it happen , He will be huge for us. I think the jazz were willing to give Miroshi* 3yr/45ish, which would be like setting money on fire spending it on that turd.

This will most likely mean Favs is gone but after getting Bojan does this mean we are done signing people ?

Can't see us having much more money unless we waive the rest of our roster

Dear god, I come before thee with a humble heart. I thank thee for this great jazz team thou has given us. Thou has brought forth great miracles, in bringing forth Gobert then Mitchell. Thou has opened up the heavens and delivered Conley who will add 3 point shooting and lighten the load on Mitchell. At this time I come before thee on bended knees that thou will deliver Bogdanovic that thou might deliver up a championship unto us. At this time I’ve been pretty damn good, I’ve been respectful and haven’t called anyone an idiot in months. As an offering we give thee the mighty Derrick Favors, a loyal serving member of the jazz, will be a loyal servant for thee. AMEN.

We would have the Room MLE ($4.7ish) and minimum deals OR over the cap MLE ($9.5ish) depending on if we can make it a sign and trade.

More than likely, we will have the Room MLE and minimums.

How much do the Jazz have to sign him? This still means Favors is staying right?
GONZO!!
I want to know who plays the 4. Because none of Royce, Joe, Bojan, Georges or Jarrell are ideal for more than spot minutes at a time there. And what the **** happens if Rudy gets hurt?

We'd be scary asf if everyone stayed healthy and we found a more traditionally sized 4 to play some minutes though.
Brantley baby!!!!!
Can Jazz and Pacers do a double sign and trade? Utah signs Rubio and trades to Pacers for Bojan, who sign and trade him to Utah? This way Utah can sign Bojan and keep Favors. Does Utah have Rubios bird rights?
This happening would be like me hitting a home run off Jacob deGrom blindfolded and one arm tied behind my back. Lol. Translation, not happening.

Based on an Indy article I read, I don’t think so. It sounds like they can just sign Rubio.
