I actually think signing Rubio was a solid move for the Suns. What they need from a PG is exactly what he brings. Defense and passing. Plus he's a good locker room guy who will provide some leadership. Sure they are paying him a lot but it's not like they are contending in the next two years anyway.

I don’t get what motivated the suns to do this at all

Like everyone here , I’ve watched Rubio for the past 2 seasons , I think his defence is hugely overrated, and to a point I was disappointed in his passing ability ...
