Top 10 Unrestricted Mid-Level Free Agents

I just saw that, 4 years 20 million 4th year only partially gaurenteed. Very managelbel contract, and a missed opportunity.

Next plan: Accept the enivitable Boozer departure, and send AK to Minnesota for Jefferson and Milicic.

*gag*

None of these guys would come play in Utah unless we over pay them. The Millers, Amundson, Tolliver maybe with the MLE, but Shaq, O'Neal, or Haywood. No way.

Shaq wants to play in Dallas I read somewhere. I could see him going there for the mid-level.

Haywood will probably get more than the mid-level. Big guys are not cheap.

Brad Miller would be a good mid-level guy for the Jazz but I read he likes Boston and they need another big with Perkins out.

I can't believe I'm saying this but if we bring him in and he appears healthy, I'd offer T-Mac 2 years, 8M or so. Sound about right?

Low risk. HIGH reward.

None of them would either be interested in us or us in them. Brendon Haywood is about the only guy I'd be interested in... Maybe Louis too...

I think Shaq and Tmac would be high risk/ high rewards type free agents. The Jazz are not known for these type of moves. I for one would welcome either one or both for 1 or 2 year contacts. This is not the long term answer but it would be entertaining.

For all his ridiculous tats and continual play for the bottom feeders of the NBA, Mike Miller has appeared to gel into a solid/high IQ player. Yeah, he's not going to play that good man defense but neither has most SG's in Utah.

He is of course way over paid not at 9+ mil. If The Jazz can get him for about half of that I'd give him a shot.

Don't we already have Mike Miller in Korver or Hayward?

Well, we don't really have Korver anymore. While I'm not as down on the Hayward pick as most around here, I will say I fully expect him to get overwhealmed at times on defense and as a result will see some serious pine time his rookie year.

While I was a fan of Korver I will say Miller is a more complete player. While Korver might have stretched the defense a bit more than Miller does - Miller does have the ability to put it on the floor while still commanding a body on him from 20+ feet out. And yeah Miller is a below average man defender, but if he buys into the Utah system like Korver did, I have no doubt he can make the same defensive contributions.

What impresses me most about Miller is that as he becomes older he doesn't seem to make a lot of bad decisions (not counting his personal appearance) - maybe it was just because he was surrounded by a bunch of hacks in Washington last year; but I think he has a high b-ball IQ and could fit well in Utah.
