At which position do we feel least comfortable and need to add another vet?

Just thinking how deep the West is and how seeding could come down to being able to withstand injuries.

So, at which position do we feel least comfortable? If Conley goes down, do we want to have to depend on Mudiay or Exum or Mitchell starting at the 1? If Gobert goes down, I like Davis a lot but do we feel good about him playing 30 minutes a night AND Bradley playing 18?

Vote and provide your answer and rationale.

I voted the 5. If Gobert goes down, I’d be concerned about Davis and Bradley playing 48 minutes there.

I sort of feel like we need one more 5 or a legit 4/5 combo who can shoot. Not sure if Kaminsky, as mediocre as he is, is available.

PF by a good margin.

I think the 1, 4 and 5 are the spots and by a large margin. Knowing that, a legit 4/5 combo makes a lot of sense. I just don’t want us hurt badly for 15-20 games if someone goes down. I want the 2 seed (or 1), not the 5 seed.

The 5 is locked down. I don't want ANY new resources dedicated at the 5 position. 1 is questionable backup-wise but we might be staggering Conley and Mitchell a bit so...

The good news is I had to pause to answer the question. I went with PF - If Bojan/Green gets hurt we need a legit banger with some NBA experience to replace Favors' PF defense off the bench.

But it’s about depth. If we got a guy almost equal to Green in ability (in case Green goes down), who can also play the 5, in case Gobert goes down, I think it’s prudent to get him. I wouldn’t necessarily want a pure 4.

Ed Davis is our backup 5. We have good depth at the 5. Not many teams have Gobert-Davis-Bradley/Reed type of depth at the 5. I'd much rather have 3/4 than 4/5...

Sigh. I know he’s our backup 5. I’m just worried about one guy going down and how our depth looks then. I guess, really, I just hate Bradley and don’t trust him to play 18 a night.

I don't trust him either but... chances are if you are fielding a min player he won't be much better than Bradley. Like when Gruden asked long-time Colts OC Tom Moore "why don't the back up QBs get more reps in practice?", Moore just told him "If Manning is down we are ****ED... and we don't practice ****ED" ... the point is... if Rudy goes down, we are ****ed either way... a center for the minimum won't change that, IMO...

I would’ve loved Marcus Morris. But apparently a few jazz fans thought he had attitude problems so the Spurs, the Raiders of the NBA, known for their erratic FO that loves troublesome players, already took him...

But I agree with Wes. Our focus should be on finding a 4/5 guy. Who’s still available other than Frank Kaminsky?

Kaminsky is on the Suns I believe. And it's not like we could've afforded Morris anyways, though I wouldn't have minded not signing Bojan to that big of contract and splitting it between a couple of guys like Morris and someone else.

Thabo is still on the market I believe as a 3/4.

If we’re talking 4’s or 4/5’s, who’s out there?
JaMychal Green
Kelly Oubre Jr.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Jabari Parker
Ryan Anderson
Trey Lyles
Cheick Diallo
Kenneth Faried
Dwight Howard
Vince Carter
Dragan Bender
Jonas Jerebko
Tyson Chandler
Nene
Amir Johnson
Kosta Koufos
Salah Mejri
Greg Monroe
Khem Birch

?

Might have missed some...

Yea....because the fans are the reason he didn't sign with Utah.

Not the fact he got 5X's more than Utah could pay him.

Faried and Howard at the 4?

Maybe Bender.

I can’t believe Green is out there still. Insane. If we got him on the VM, our off-season would be insane. Conley needs to badger him to come.
