I think Dan Clayton was saying that we could offer a 3-year deal to someone (perhaps one of the rooks, if we believed in them) that would be impossible if we completed the Davis signing first. 2-year at most otherwise.

I figured they were the front runners. Hence why the Jazz needed to operate above the cap and keep the full MLE in order to be able to offer more than just the Room MLE and minimum contracts like they have been. Most of these guys don’t matter. They won’t make a difference in the playoffs. That should be the ONLY focus right now. Improve your top 8 guys to a high level of play when rotations tighten.

I could see two places for Westbrook. Orlando and Minny.

Fournier, Fultz and Isaac for him and filler. Or instead of Isaac, put in Augustin and a 1st.

They could march out Westbrook, Ross, Aminu, Gordon and Vucevic with Augustin and Bamba your first two off the bench. That could be a very competitive group in the East.

I could also see Minny with a few different variations. Maybe Teague, Dieng, and a 1st for Westbrook. May have to throw Culver in there too.

Minny could then roll with Westbrook, Okogie, Wiggins, Vonleh, Towns. Not sure if I like that to even make the playoffs in the West tbh. But I could see Minny doing something to get him and make Towns happy.
