That the Jazz have resumed their normal lazy ****ing moves and that the offseason is over.
This.

I can see it now. DL woke up a few days ago, hungover from the cocaine fueled chaos of the last month, and said "good hell what have I done" then immediately called and demanded we sign any previous 2nd-round pick we could get our hands on. It would be the only way he could sleep at night.

So either Brantley or Oni isn't making the team? Okay... why'd we buy those picks?

Two-way deals. I think we still have one more regular roster spot and both our two-ways.

PG: Conley, Mudiay, Williams-Goss
SG: Mitchell, Exum
SF: Ingles, Bojan, O'Neale
PF: Green, Niang, Howard
C: Gobert, Davis, Bradley

I count 14 at this point, unless I'm missing someone.

Not worth the money spent just to have them on two way deals imo

Not sure what you're expecting on the seconds. But if they turn into any sort of capable NBA player, they would likely be under control contract wise for likely a half-decade. They also become minor assets if they play overseas, which can be used in other trades. Utah loses nothing in purchasing those picks.

you're really gonna be salty after such a great offseason ??
Apparently. 5th string point guard isn’t a thing, so they might as well have created some salary ballast for a potential future trade by getting a savvy veteran as a mentor instead of a project that won’t play.

It just doesn’t make any sense to me. I know this should be a quibble but it reeks of a phoned-in or pet move and that **** drives me bonkers as a matter of principle.

I don’t know what I’m talking about and my anger is obviously completely irrational.

Jazz can bring 20 guys to camp. Of the 20, two can be on 2-way contracts and up to 4 guys can have their minor league rights held by the Stars if they’re not signed to an NBA deal after being cut. The thing to watch is guaranteed money. That tends to dictate which guys are going to make the final roster and which guys will probably end up in the G-league.

I see our depth at PG as Conley, Mudiay, and Williams-Goss if we're going tradition. Utah will play Exum more on the wings than previous season (per Jones) and Mitchell will still draw time in PG as well. The thing is, with our injury issues Rubio, Neto, AND Exum last year, we were down to Mitchell and Ingles drawing duty there.

Given all that, I have no issues with carrying an extra PG for insurance.
