Officially signed, not a 2-way contract.

So looks like we might have our final 15

Conley/Exum/Mudiay/NWG
Mitchell/O'Neale/Oni
Bojan/Ingles/Howard
Green/Niang
Gobert/Davis/Bradley

Still a couple 2 way contracts to be handed out, and Tony Jones says we might sign another guy to compete with Howard for the final spot.

Thoughts on the 'final' roster?

That’s stupid!! What did he even do to deserve a contract? Seriously, what?

my guess is that he was the most complete player of the three and because of this he is the most NBA ready. I remember brantley just played his game and williams-goss needs to learn to be a point guard still.

I think Brantley will have a place on the roster, but will hone his three point touch a bit more as spreading the floor out offensively is critical in today's game. As for JWF, wouldn't be shocked to see him go overseas.

Not like Oni's going to be putting up big minutes; he'll basically be on the Stars most of the year.

Made threes and played good defense. He's not the type to light up summer league and those guys don't necessarily translate. Can he make threes? yes. Can he play NBA level defense? I think so. Doing those two things can get you court time in the pros.

Even if they decide they can do better than NWG, Oni, Howard you could cut them and just pay the full salary and sign a vet. Blowing through a few million to buy picks and take a long look at a guy or two is worth it if you find one contributor. Once we are over the cap its just the trust's money so really doesn't change our ability to maneuver.

It'd be nice to know how much guaranteed money these deals are giving.

Four years of solid college basketball.

These decisions aren't made by their summer league performances. I don't think Wesley Matthew's had a memorable summer league or training camp (he may have had one or two good games in training camp.)

He's athletic, he can shoot, he's got a 6'10 wingspan. He's got potential.

This is the same development team that picked ONeal over Bolomboy. When I disagree with them, I realize they know more than me.

Brantley should have been on the 15 man. His size/girth, 7'3 wingspan and ability to handle brings a different dynamic to the roster that nobody else brings.

I think he’ll get signed to a 2-way contract like Niang did. Didn’t take Georges long to get called up, and then to get a full contract with the Jazz. If Brantley can play, he’ll get the same treatment.

We’ve got 5 chances to find a cheap contributor... 12-15 spots and both two ways. I assume we keep Brantley and JWF’s rights in some form or fashion.

Taking a few swings on the backend of the roster is good business imo. I think all 3 guys we signed could fill in a bench role for a few weeks if there was an injury. So it’s not just a flyer... I think it’s a safe flyer... I prefer that over a guy like Bol Bol.

I think he's getting one of the two-way deals. He looks like he needs a year in the system to be evaluated fairly. One of the guys could go overseas if they get a better offer... not sure an NBA club is offering him a guaranteed deal.

He hit a lot of open shots and played good defense in SL. Plus, he showed he could drive and pass the ball well enough not to screw up the offense.

He did the things he will need to do his first few years in the league really well and then did a little with the ball. Not sure what people were expecting. SL is kind of a **** show and he looked solid throughout.
