Signed with a German team yesterday. He was the seventh selection in the 2010 NBA Draft. That was the draft that Favs was the third pick. He was selected ahead of Paul George and Haywood. Has the game changed that much that players like him are now dinosaurs?

As I recall the Jazz were big on Monroe because of his passing skills. Had he fallen to the Jazz instead of whats his name what else might have changed in Jazz history?

Who was it that coined the term Alfense? Was it dutch?

Good post players haven't become obsolete.

Monroe became obsolete because he sucks.

Al became obsolete because he aged.

This. AL's repertoire of moves was FAR superior to the much more strong-hand dominant Monroe.

I'll never forget the first time I saw ESPN's #1 ranked HS senior, Greg Monroe get his *** whooped by Al Farouq Aminu, i never really trusted him after that.

Let the record show that Greg Monroe was one of those guys who did in fact coast by a lil higher than he should have because of his age, he was considered very young for his class.. so there was always like this false untapped potential surrounding him tbh.

The game has changed to the point where players like him are dinosaurs though, he's too tethered to the ground to be going left as often as he wants, and he's too heavyfooted defensively.. Kanter is really a far superior NBA bigman..
