The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Yes. Trump thanks tens of thousands of people just like you for the presidency.
I'm not responsible for anyone's vote but mine. So please tell me, would Trump have not been elected if I had voted differently?

For that matter, how about your vote... would the outcome have been any different at all if you had voted third party instead of for Clinton? (assuming that's how you voted)

Yes. A lot of people whose opinions I respect, respect him.

I thought his questions at Mueller were sincere. I also thought he gave the impression that he wasn’t trying to trick Mueller into scoring a touchdown for his team. Which means he was literally the only republican to take the hearing seriously.

It’s not just voting for the president. It’s also voting for his/her party. Trump and Trumpism is a symptom of the disease. The disease being a Republican Party that has chased out moderates and intellectuals (people who used to provide good ideas), corrupted by horrible socially awkward anti-government billionaires (Mercers, Adelsons, Kochs), given up its independence to a symbiotic relationship to hate radio and Fox News, and has let the southern strategy of wooing racists go unchecked for 40 years.

So even if you voted third party for president, who did you vote for locally? Since you’re from utah county, did you vote to elect trump enabler and republican John Curtis? Did you vote for mitt Romney and mike Lee? Have you donated to the Republican Party?

Even if Trump were impeached and indicted tomorrow, Trumpism would still reign in the GOP. Racism, corruption, and ant-intellectualism would still be running rampant.

The only way to fix the GOP is to reject it wholesale, locally and nationally. They must see devastating elections to force the party leadership to change.

BTW, trust me, doing what you can helps you feel good. One of the happiest times I’ve had in politics recently was working with Ben McAdams to end Mia Love’s miserable political career. Funny, Ben is now the most popular politician from our state. It’s almost as if... not enabling trump and standing for decency is a good thing! Meanwhile, Mitt’s spineless approach has given him the lowest approval rating of all our politicians.

I disagree. Saying she felt bad for Cummings, or something like that, would be not calling it out at all. She is weakly calling Trump out.

Maybe there’s a misunderstanding here, but I criticized her calling trump out for being so weak.

@colton

This is exactly why I advocate completely rejecting the entire GOP:

The moral cowardice of elected Republicans is matched by their low opinion of their own voters...

Since Trump’s election I’ve suggested that the current Republican Party is irredeemable...

The only plausible path at this point is to crush the Republican Party so resoundingly at every level that it is forced to abandon Trumpism, recruit an entirely different generation of leadership and devise an agenda that is not based on right-wing nationalism. Helping Democrats achieve that end should be the goal of all decent Americans — including Republicans who want one day to be able to vote in good faith for a Republican Party true to the tradition of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.

Jennifer Rubin is a conservative btw

The Democrats tried this and ended up with The Squad. Careful what you wish for is the lesson here.

Huh? Once again you show up to class with lazy and sloppy work.

Literally all four members of the squad took over seats that were already held by Democrats. In Rep. Pressley’s position, no Republican even ran against her. So I fail to see how your analogy is in the same solar system to what I and jennifer Rubin are advocating for.

You fail to see the similarities in how wanting younger reps who are more than likely not ready for the show to shake things up a bit could wind up netting a result such as the absolute embarrassment that is the squad? Hence, the careful what you wish for. Sorry that you're so confused.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for term limits but the analogy is simple enough if you just look at what was said. The odd thing is, you come back with insults and I didn't even disagree with you.
