Gandalfe:

My team, obviously, is built around the most powerful force the NBA ever saw, Wilt Chamberlain. I don't even need to have a backup for him, because he never once fouled out of a game, and one season he averaged 48.5 minutes a game. He played every single minute of the season except for 8 minutes. He holds the top 7 positions in average minutes per game, and for his career, he averaged 45.8 minutes. He averaged over 50 pts a game one year, and hat same year, he averaged over 25 boards. In fact, he led the league in boards 11 times and scoring 7 years IN A ROW. As for versatility, he is the only Center to lead the league in assists. If they counted blocks in his era, he would probably have the season record there, too.

But if he does have to go out of the game, he's got one of the greatest defensive centers behind him, Mark Eaton.

McHale was a beast in his day, known as the Torture Chamber. But for this matchup, I might start the Unicorn, Prozingas. It's not a question of if they'd beat you, it's just how.

Same thing at SF. Barkley is out of position a bit, but in he day, he moved like a guard. Sam Jones is a 10 time NBA champion who averaged 17 ppg.

Harden is the most brutal scorer of the modern age, with tricks and traps that will destroy just about anyone. Rick Barry, frankly, was a dirty player who will do anything to win.

Tony Parker led the Spurs to 4 championship, while Bob Cousy was the first great point guard and still considered a legend.

Between the team, they have 26 rings. On Elan's team, there are 4 rings. I mean, championships aren't everything, but they sure mean SOMETHING. My team is full of winners. His is full of people who had a reputation for not quite getting the job done.

Simply put I have too much scoring power in this match up. My starting line up alone averages close to 50FTAs/gm. This backcourt matchup may be the biggest mismatch in the 1st round.

Who's stopping my guys getting to the hole? How quickly do Wilt and Eaton foul out?

Anchoring this squad is one of the greatest offensive rebounders of all time.

10 men roster spots wouldn’t be enough if I gathered a team of the players that I love from these two teams.

I kind of hate everything surrounding Wilt Chamberlain. The gaudy, raw numbers he put up often gets wrapped into obvious tall tales about his prowess. If that production was not just hogging the ball and the tales of his prowess were so legit, he should’ve been as or more successful than Bill Russell, who ate his ****ing lunch. You know how many FG’s this superhuman had to put up to get 50 PPG? ****ing 40.

There is a reason these contests have recency bias, and it’s that we have better data on recent players and basketball is vastly superior now. That is the same reason we’ve never seen another Wilt Chamberlain as well.

As I mentioned above, if you're waiting for Wilt to foul out, you're going to need a time machine and travel to the far future.

Oh, here's another Wilt stat: He led the league in FG% 9 times. He only averaged under 50% twice, once was his rookie year, the other he averaged 49.9%. His final season it was 72.7%.

Ask most players from that era, they would say Wilt was better. Russell played on much better teams, absolutely stacked teams. Wilt wasn’t so fortunate

Players today are bigger stronger, quicker and way more athletic than in Wilts era. It was like he was a man playing in a kids rec league at times. There’s no way he puts up those numbers and plays that many minutes. He didn’t need to foul because he was so much more physically gifted compared to everyone else.

This is why we need to do a 90’s only draft, or 80’s and 90’s or something or a draft with no current players.

Now, imagine Wilt with modern nutrition, training, coaching, etc...

Probably not. The average NBA player is much better than ever today, and his coaches wouldn't have let him play that much. But he would have still been absolutely dominant.

Here's a great article (opinion, obviously) about his greatness: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...t-chamberlain-is-the-greatest-nba-player-ever

No **** Sherlock. Thanks for agreeing with me ROTFL Everyone drafted in the first round were dominant. Lol

I don't like either lineup. Gandalfe starting 3 centers is terrible.

I like elan's team except AI at PG with this team but it's still okay. Moses is under rated and really good.

Barkley is not a 3. At all. But I voted for this dude because McHale, Barkley and Parker bring legit intangibles and winning to the table imo. The other team is a who’s who of headaches.

I went Elan. I’m a sucker for the real AI. my favorite none Jazz player of all time to watch. Kid played hard every play. Elan has too much talent to lose this match. Gandalfe just has a weird lineup IMO.

Gandalfe drafted one sf and he’s the backup sg?? He’s playing three centers, starting two pf’s and Has a sg playing sf on his bench. I think you over thought this. Lol

You think Barkley is a Center? That's hilarious. He's an undersized PF, which is why I felt he could manage the SF, that and in his younger days he could definitely move like a guard. McHale is a PF, but I think he played a decent amount of minutes at C.

I agree, Moses is really good, especially if you count his time with the ABA. But Wilt is better.
