The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Jesus H, I hope shell gets sued into the ground. Same for trump.

God, this guy needs to go.

Agreed. It’s toxic. Employees shouldn’t be forced to do this. It’s all connected. I’m sure Shell is hoping to get itself some nice deals by kissing trump’s butt. Corruption has a corrupting effect.

Ok we’ve identified the problem. What is the solution? Will voting Democrat really solve our issues? Shall we blindly trust the political process in this country, or is the need for deeper changes at hand? These are the questions that we need to ask. Respect bro.

I think just voting non Trump solves this particular issue.
I mean Trump isn't our first president. He isn't our first republican president either. I don't remember any other presidents of the past, Democrat or republican, who had companies making these type of demands in order to get overtime pay.

To me this isn't a partisan problem. It's a trump problem. Trump needs to go. Impeach his *** and get another Republican to run next election.

This looks and smells like Fascism to me

From the article:.
The president also called out union leadership, which Shell had requested to be in attendance.

“I’m going to speak to some of your union leaders to say, ‘I hope you’re going to support Trump.’ OK?” he said. “And if they don’t, vote them the hell out of office because they’re not doing their job.”

I will say that after reading the full article it's not as bad as I thought.
I mean if my company did that I would just be like, cool I get to just stand there and do nothing and get paid overtime? Sweet. I would probably just put my wireless headphones in and play on my phone throughout the whole thing.
And if I felt like it then maybe I would just lose out on the money and go fishing or take my daughter swimming or something instead. (I would probably attend and take the money though.)

To be fair, they weren't forced to do anything. They had a choice to attend and get overtime pay on the next Friday or take the day off with no punishment.

Yes, across the board.

Removing Trump in 2020 is an immediate goal. Voting D is the most realistic way to do that. We can do that while pushing for reform and replacement of corrupt and under performing representatives. At city, state and national levels.

Unfortunately it involves mass amounts of Americans getting off their lazy asses.

I think it’s reasonable to assume that more than money is at stake with this, right? Position, reputation, pay raises and promotions. Workplaces are full of politics. “Aren’t you a team player Fishon?” So I’m guessing if you had been in that position, you’d have to consider much more than just lunch and headphones.

edit: is that you in your pic? Was that taken at the Brazilian restaurant Tucanos?

Yes its me in my pic (and my wife). It was taken at PF changs (we had a giftcard).

I see what you are saying about the politics at work and are probably right. In that case i would just show up, listen to some music on my headphones, play on my phone and not pay attention to anything trumps dumbass has to say and collect my overtime while not losing any work politic points.

I disagree. Trump’s damage to our country will be long lasting. The allies he’s alienating, the authoritarians he’s validating, the treaties he’s shredding... the judges he’s appointing... The example he’s setting for political discourse... all will take years if not decades to repair, if they’re event repairable in the first place.

These are lifetime appointments. He’s going to be around long after a two term President Warren fixes the Trump recession.

Fair enough. You make a good case

Man don’t make me vote for Joe or Kamala :/

Why? Neither would be bad and neither would be an existential threat, like trump. If you actually recognize how awful trump is, it really doesn’t matter who the Democrats nominate insofar that they produce the best candidate to beat Trump.

I’ll never understand people who either:

A. Normalize Trump. Pretending like voting for or against him is a realistic choice for reasonable human beings. As if this is a choice between Romney or Obama. It’s not. Trump is an off the charts criminal who everyday abuses the office.

Or

B. Over Exaggerate their disdain for Democrats by acting like Democrats are “just as bad” as Trump. As if is Biden is the left’s version of Trump. None of the democrats are close to trump when it comes to extremism, lack of character, and criminality. Also, None of the hold the support of their party and media like trump does. Can anyone honestly imagine the DNC being held hostage to Warren or Harris’s tweets the way the GOP is held to Trump’s?

I never agreed with many of the policies of Bush I, McCain, or Romney. But none of them were existential threats, like Trump. All of them were reasonable alternatives to their Democratic opponents. Even Bush II. I mean Bush II pushed the bounds of executive power and the constitution, don’t get me wrong, especially regarding torture and spying. His admin put the idea of a “Unitary Executive” into power in ways that Nixon could only dream of. But he wasn’t as extreme or flagrant, as Trump.

Harris and Biden are moderates. Let’s make that clear. They aren’t liberal Trumps. Their policies are well in line with the norms of 21st century presidential politics. Acting as if they’d fundamentally change America is absurd. So let’s stop these lame comparisons.

Besides, it’s not like this is about politics. It’s about the soul of America. I’d love for problems like climate change, gun violence, and universal health care to be addressed with the next presidency. But that’s not the goal. The goal is removing the cancer from the White House immediately. If that means that the next president won’t be able to do anything in their first term? So be it.

So yes, ALL and ANY of the Democratic candidates would be far better than Trump and it isn’t even close. This election isn’t just about policy.

Couldn't agree more. Good post.
#nevertrump4life (I mean, unless he were to change. I don't think that will happen though)

Fail. Hard.

This election more than any other is about so much more than policy. And I refuse to endorse or support a guy who is a narcissist POS. It’s about what morals we want to represent us. What characteristics we want in a leader. And Trump doesn’t have a single one I want.
