I'm going to go full Colton here. And maybe this is best suited for the pet peeves thread.
Why do some many writers use the conditional tense when talking about an accomplishment (e.g. he would have his best performance, he would score xx points)? It's not something in doubt. It happened. Therefore conditional tense shouldn't be used, just past tense. Seems to happen frequently with sports reporters.

The writer would write a better article, IF he were to brush up on some basic grammar.

It’s a Brave New World where you don’t have to be a professional writer to post on the internet.

That entire article was pure crap. No insight. The only reason it is being read is because it’s August and we are starved for NBA material.

I agree the article was crap but being reminded of how explosive Donovan is felt good to me.

Im gonna be honest. I didnt even read the article. Just watched the highligts of his best games of the season.
