The All-Time Utah Jazz Tease Team

I think it’d be interesting to see an alternate universe for Hood. His trajectory looked really good. Like, if he didn’t get hurt, or whatever it was that led to Ingles going into the starting lineup, then never had the pressure. If we hypothetically had Hill, Hood, Hayward and Gobert, but then had someone like a Kevin Love (then), what would Hood have looked like?
Hood would have been benched regardless. He had a huge mindset change in his 3rd year and turned his game into a chucker.

People way overhyped him tho. Hes one of the stranger players with how his body moves. Just had no ability whatsoever to dribble drive into a scoring moves going towards the rim. Rarely went off 1 foot in the lane. Always two foot stops or a stop into a pivot. And when he did it looked really awkward.

Anyone remember Jamie Watson? He was back in the Stockton days he was a 6-7 pg that listened to his idiot agent who told Jamie he’d be a star and should hold out for big bucks and was never heard from again. I thought he had a chance to be pretty good.
I do. I believe Russell was drafted the year before and did decently as a rookie. This led to young me expecting every random 2nd round pick to come in and contribute right away. Jamie Watson didn’t, but I remember him and my crushed expectations to this day.

Not sure why Im the only one with Favors.
You’re not. We traded the face of our post-Stockton and Malone franchise for him and had expectations for being really good and not just “teh advanced stats” good.

He was still very good, always properly paid, accepted a reduced role, and was a genuine dude. He was a slight disappointment for me... not a first teamer imo. I think the league kinda changed on him, but I also didn't really expect him to be like Amare or Prime Dwight.

He was a big part of the package and that was probably as good as we could have done given the circumstances.

Yes, but I’m talking more about the expectation because of what we lost. But it was an atonement move, covering for the sins of omission and passivity on the part of Greg and KOC since Larry died. Who knows what we could have gotten. It was reported that KOC spoke to nobody else. We got Harris, who we parlayed into Marvin Williams (and Heaven Harris?) and then I believe that was it. We parlayed Kanter into Rubio. Favors was kind of the krux of that deal.

Favs was the centerpiece but the pick that became Kanter was a big deal... and as hinted at... KOC needed his stopgap pg option so that we could make runs at the #8 seed.
