The All-Time Utah Jazz Tease Team

I remember watching clips of Favors in high school thinking he was going to be the next Shawn Kemp (in Seattle). I was thrilled when The Jazz traded DWill for him. I thought 4 or 5 years averaging 20/10 was a definite possibility.

I was excited about DeShawn Stevenson only because at the time The Jazz were such a conservative franchise. When they picked him I figured they knew something the rest of the league didn't......then I saw him play.

I drank the Kool-Aid on Burks and Raul Lopez too. I thought Burks could be a legit NBA starter on a good team and Lopez could be a 10 APG player.

Yes. I thought he was a pretty good fit in a lineup of Deron / Giricek / AK / Boozer / Okur. But Sloan apparently didn’t like him and we traded him for Giricek on steroids (Korver) who, though getting more burn than Giricek, I felt was underutilized and should have been starting.

Also I may include Korver’s first stint. Not because of Korver per se, but because he could have been utilized so much more.

Agreed on Favors. He reminded me a lot offensively of Amare. Then at G Tech he was known for his defensive focus...so I thought we were getting an elite player.

There is one man that stands out to me above and beyond anyone else. Luther Wright. He got paid from the Utah Jazz 25 years after his rookie year in 1993. I remember at the time, Luther Wright was called the Shaq stopper and the Jazz were immediately talked about as being the the next Dynasty in the NBA because of him joining Stockton and Malone. He was supposed to be our Center of the future after Mark Eaton. He played 15 games and was found in Salt Lake high on drugs, screaming and breaking things at a gas station. After his arrest he was never heard from again.
