Utah-v-BYU

Lol outside of Michigan, BYU is the luckiest team I have ever watched. Fantastic win for them in the end but that should've never happened. I guess that's what makes sports so great though, especially CFB. We'll see how they fair against legit teams these next two games.

About time they get some luck. Usually they are the unluckiest team.
Even in last night's game it was 3rd and 17 or something for Tennessee and a receiver caught a pass out bounds (ruled out by the refs) and then it was reviewed and the during the review the announcers were basically saying there was a zero percent chance it would be overturned. Of course it was overturned and the announcers couldn't believe it. Would have been 4th and 17.
The very next play they throw a pass that a byu linebacker gets his hands on and it goes up in the air and lands right in the hands of a Tennessee receiver for a TD.
There was also a facemask call on byu where none of the facemask was even touched.

Byu was extremely lucky at the end of the game though on the long pass. On that I agree with you. Luck is a big part of football. It was nice to be lucky in this case.

Good win for BYU. Exciting finish. They showed a lot of heart.

Having said that, Tennessee is going to finish near or at the bottom of the SEC.

I guess the Ute fan with the goatee was a complete dickhole and looks a little inbred tbh.

I went to the Utah-Weber State opener last season and saw a few people in BYU gear. I thought to myself, “Hmmm, that’s strange”.

Don’t get me wrong. I love football and if I was a Utah transplant living in Tennessee, I may have been interested enough to attend yesterday’s game. That being said, I absolutely wouldn’t wear Ute gear under any circumstance. I’ve always seen it as poor form and a little lame to wear your colors to a game your team has nothing to do with. For whatever reason, I see it a lot in the NFL and I just think, “Why”?

Good post. I go to ute games quite often. More often than byu games even. When i go to ute games i wear a red hoodie (its about the only red piece of clothing i own) and cheer for the utes. (Even if im kinda wanting them to lose)

Of course i partake in the adult beverages and festivities as well.

I always have a good time. Being that there are a lot of drunks there, i have seen some pretty bad behavior. But thats what happens with heavy all day drinking and a charged up atmosphere.
I always have fun. Would never dream of being an obnoxious douche to a bunch of random people at a ute game that i dont know.

I remember ugli baby at a utah vs ucla game doing some horrible ****. He had been drinking straight whiskey out of a red solo cup for the last 3-4 hours. Gotta expect some bad things to happen.

The behavior in the rivalry is getting downright weird. I’m at a work convention this week and this afternoon at lunch, I had a BYU fan completely shut down and stop talking to me after he found out I was a Ute fan. I didn’t even small-talk him, just told him I was a Utah fan and then got the legitimate silent treatment.

I have no problem being completely honest about the fact that I don’t like BYU. I grew up in their era of dominance and have a bad taste in my mouth for several reasons. That being said, I don’t associate my dislike of BYU sports with people who cheer for BYU. Hell, I can and have talked football with BYU fans for for hours at a time. Back in the Crowton years, I won tix to the BYU-Syracuse season opener and figured I’d go just to see the BYU game day atmosphere. I wore neutral colors and respected the hosts.

It’s not that hard to not be an ******* but I guess it’s becoming more rare? ‍♂️

Also, I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I found myself legitimately happy that BYU beat Tennessee, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they give USC more than they bargain for. (Maybe I’m mellowing in my old age)?

I’m so sick of SEC fans and their superiority complex for a league that is 2-3 teams heavy with a large majority of the league being average to bad and almost all of their teams refusing to play more than the occasional game West of Texas.

Obviously, teams like Bama/Georgia are on a completely different level but I’d easily like Utah’s chances playing the likes of Tennessee/Vanderbilt/Arkansas/Ole Miss much more than facing a line-up of Oregon/USC/Washington/Washington State.

I'm terrified of USC and Washington.

Tennessee was a good win but they're not a good team. USC is going to smoke BYU.
Most likely. Thing about football though is that what you expect to happen sometimes doesn't actually happen

Fwiw usc is favored by 4. 4 points wouldn't really be a "smoking" imo.
