Would Jazz be better off?

If they kept Jonas and Thabo? It certainly would be good for chemistry. For instance, they gave up on Millsap too soon and he turned out to be better than Favors. The issue with them, though, might be age. Still, they would be good vets who can still play at a reasonable cost. Discuss.

Short answer: No. They won't be missed.

The issue with them is that they are not that good to justify a roster spot on our team. Chemistry is good already. Also, Jerebko wanted more minutes/bigger role despite being unplayable in certain matchups and during the playoffs (both for us and the Warriors). Thabo is washed.

In no way their situation is close to Millsap (age, talent, potential, role etc.). To be honest, I don't see the point of arguing about end of the bench players and in the case of Jerebko, someone who will be playing in the Russian league.

Jerebko couldn’t make a roster in the NBA and Thabo wasn’t coming back because his wife didn’t have a good time here. Pretty sure Jonas requested his option not be picked up last offseason anyway.

This isn’t a topic.

Jonas is what he is, an end of the bench/fringe NBA’er. Sef is at the end of his career. How the hell did we give up on them too early?

So we're comparing Millsap to Thabo and Jerebko? Millsap was a very good player for us and at the time had not yet hit his prime, he went on to be a 4 time all star and have some of the best years of his career with the Hawks. Thabo and Jonas are washed up end of bench type of guys that never had anywhere near the talent of Millsap even in their primes.

Sauce for that Thabo thing?

Jonas, Thabo and Ekpe all gave us hope when Haywood screwed us. Having all three around instead of our 13th, 14th and 15th player wouldn't bother me. If we picked up Jonas option we probably would have had one more regular season win last season the heartbreaker vs Golden state when he tapped in the game winner at the buzzer.

wut?

Jonas sucked. No idea why anyone liked him.

Thabo was solid, but he's getting older and he was terrible in the Houston series.

He could make a roster, but I'd imagine he wants to play.

I don’t remember them giving us any hope. I fully expected the Jazz to win around 35 games at the beginning of the year.

I remember when the Jazz were really struggling and they had a road game in Boston which looked like a certain loss and Jonas put the Jazz on his back in a win and he was player of the game.

I remember a game where Ostertag put up 20-15.

No. Would’ve been better off if they would have gone and gotten Bojan after Hayward left.
