We don't talk enough about the man, who had class in spades. He died four years ago, had a rough time with the booze, but boy when the times were good, they were gooooood. I didn't even realize they made a documentary about him.

The first preseason game is tomorrow, so I think starting our year right means paying respect to the OGs. Would we could all be as goddamn suave as this ************ right here.

Looking down the barrel”

You gotta love it, baby!”

There's lots of history about the man out there. Let's chip in a pay our respects to the man, and get this season started right.

I still listen to his play calls from time to time on YouTube. It's nostalgic af and brings me back to some of the best times in life.

Hot Rod had the pipes and the lines (they weren't over thought or tried too hard.)

Mailman with the hammer dunk.

Yeah, you gotta love it, baby. (This should be the Jazz's line over **** like take note.)

This old game was fun to listen to and watch. Young Stockton & Malone, Eaton at center, Rickey Green, Big T on the bench and Hot Rod on the call with many of the catch phrases in just the first 7 minutes. BTW, young Malone was a freaking beast and Stockton just controls the game so well. Watching them push the pace is a thing of beauty. ~35 minutes Karl gets called for throwing a vicious elbow on a rebound (didn't connect, but it was crazy!).

A few more for the list: "dribble-drive", "Stockton, front court left" (I wonder how many times I heard Hot Rod say this simple phrase)

It amazes me now how be foresaw a lot of plays before they even happened... And you could hear the frustration in his voice when we messed up. You knew he loved this team. He was truly a voice for the fans.

Hammer dunk is a million times better than hammering a 3 home.

I like the idea of using his stuff year after year as our "Take Note" statements.

I do like Take Note, but Hundleyisms would be better.

The cow-hide-globe hits home - would be bad ***.

For some reason I started watching this.
Highlights:
The commercials crack me up
It's good to hear Hot Rod
Larry Krystowiak on the Bucks, getting into it with Malone
Bailey killing it
Ricky Green

I would be for using one of Hot Rod's line but TakeNote is really simple and easy to use and thats why it works. Much better than that generic one they came up with.

"The Golden Griff with a gentle push, and a mild arc, and the old cowhide globe hits home." He made the games exciting, even when they weren't.
