What's new

Jeff Green will be..

Much better ball-handler and passer. Much more mobile and athletic. Much worse rebounder.

If we're talking a Donyell Marshall-type impact player, then we's winning championship.

That's my hope. Green will have to bring those rebounding numbers up. I'm pretty sure the Jazz gameplan for that.

I think his role is the 5th starter but will likely be top 7-8 in minutes... He's kind of ideal for that role imo. The nights he looks like Lebron we win... the nights he disappears I don't think he hurts us much. Much of his career I think he was miscast and probably just stuck as a tweener trying to play SF rather than a guy who should be a stretch PF.

Hotter take:

Conley, Mitchell, Gobert, and Bojan all make the all-star team. Jeff Green becomes a last-minute injury-replacement all-star.

Hottest take:

starting lineup makes all-NBA first team... but they add an extra spot to 1st team for Royce as well. so we have 6 all-NBA first team members.

.. the player fans wanted Crowder to be - good and consistent defensively and offensively.
There's a lot of talks with Bojan as a Crowder "replacement" but I feel that Jeff Green will be taking on Crowder's role.
Not necessarily minutes.

I think he'll be good for us but to be honest he's been anything but consistent so far in his career. There's a reason he's played on 7 teams in 6 years and played for minimum contracts the past 3 years.

our whipping boy.

Yup. For every great play, he’ll make an infuriating one, just like he’s done every stop in his career. He’s made his way based on the potential he had a young player.

If NBA2k20 is any indicator, I’m already biased against him. (Though It has me cautiously optimistic for Exum and Mudiay. Although it also has Rudy shooting 3’s...)

Marshall didnt have much of a motor and was in the prime of his career. Marshall also had super long arms but he wouldnt be able to play center either. (I know different era)

Sent from my SM-G965U using JazzFanz mobile app

Obviously they are different players, but Marshall seemed to be able to putty over gaps and fill needs without needing to be featured. He didn't need to be an All-Star or even close to it. He played just above the level of roleplayer though.
