The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Hell yeah let's have this person testify. Everyone but the Democrats want that. I've been calling on an inquiry vote for days all while Democrats know damn well giving the right their fair access just might end the entire party.

To your second hypothetical that's all it is. What if by wanting to end the text he didn't care to get sucked into this very scenario. At no point did he incriminate anybody even though Taylor tried. You are making up a fairy tale scenario. Sondland specifically said there is "no quid pro quo". Twist that all you want but it's right there in writing. Nowhere and I mean nowhere is there any quid pro quo. It's a figment of your imagination.

Just a wild guess. Sondland was not allowed to testify because team Trump realized he would not hide the conversation with Trump preceding the text message stating to Taylor that there was no quid pro quo. That text comment was meant to be on the record, to counter what Taylor said. Chances are Sondland would implicate Trump in a coverup if he testified. Everybody has to be lawyered up, and you don't really want to lie to these Congressional committees. He would have been really grilled on that conversation with Trump.

If Trump is covering up his quid pro quo, it will ultimately be his own words that lead to that particular article of impeachment. With Nixon, he didn't destroy the tapes, and his coverup was suddenly bathed in the light of day. I think we should expect more light on Trump via the Ukraine phone call. And I don't think the decision on Syria and the Kurds is sitting well with a lot of Americans. Would not surprise me if that is playing, or will play, into the trend upward in favor of impeachment. Absorbing that decision and comparing what we see to his self described "great and unmatched wisdom" is really jarring. The entire presidency is a cruel joke.

Meh I think it's Democrats making it a joke. From day one it's been nothing but resist. It's been something stupid every day with them. Every damn day. That's not an exaggeration. As far as impeachment, as I said let's get the ball rolling. You all claim it's so damning yet a week later and we're still going off of a John Does words.

As far as Syria I am absolutely baffled people want conflict. I seriously can't fathom why my used to be liberal Democrats want to get into something that we simply can't solve. One second were bitching about military budget the next were complaining we don't use it.

I mean, we're literally not. Anyway this isn't an argument made in good faith. If the democrats brought articles up for a vote right away I have no doubt you'd blame them for rushing through the process before we have all the facts.

I seriously can't fathom why my used to be liberal Democrats want to get into something that we simply can't solve.

That you think this is what the controversy is about speaks volumes.

This is actually the exact opposite of what we want, and in fact what our departure in Syria has caused.

Good grief, it's amazing how you find yourself with an upside down understanding of everything happening around you.

Don't patronize me. We're a major reason it's like that in the first place. All we've done is make matters worst over there

It's time we stay out of it plain and simple.

Having had this argument a million times already, I know you want to make this particular instance about American intervention as a whole, but Trump had to deal with the situation as it was, not how you imagine it could have been.

Further, Trump isn't removing forces from Syria, he simply moved them from a position that acted as a deterrent against Turkish action against our Kurdish allies, and gave Turkey the green light to move in and wipe them out.

It's a little hard for me to see how that is supposed to be an improvement.

Explain... The guy called Trump supporters traitors, I called him a bigot. You and him started crying. It's you crying and it's yoy feeling victimized you projecting little child.
I ain't shed a tear. You got all defensive and started calling names from your soapbox on high. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Well, we don't see eye to eye, do we? And so the world turns.

From where I stand, the confluence of the movement toward, and reasons for, impeachment, with a Syria decision (that, at once, stains our nation's honor, makes it easier for the Kurds to be killed or scattered, increases the likelihood of a renewed ISIS, and cedes greater influence to Russia and Iran in the region), serves to emphasize two components of the leader of Trumpism that some have seen all along: personal corruption and mind boggling incompetence. This man has both in spades. To those of you who are defending this guy, that's what you're defending. If you're fine with all that, good luck.
