Someone brought up Satan... he’d be a hell of an announcer... but seriously can you imagine...

“ hey Thurl I have some insight into CP3... Last year when him and Harden were beefing he put Hardens toothbrush in his b-hole... it’s a level three sin but funny as hell... also he constantly lies to valets saying he has no cash for a tip... we will be seeing him in my hometown in a few years... trust me.”

Would he be better as the color guy, or play by play? I'll hang up and listen.

It pains me to agree with a Cougar fan :) but Colton nailed it. Our announcers are better than most if the league - by far.
 
I don't particularly hate Boler, I just find him to be very, very average. His voice his average, his personality is average, his in-game acumen is average...
 
Listen to league pass and you will find worse. I would rate Boler middle of the road. They’ll never be another Hot Rod.

I should have anticipated and made fun of this response.

Btw, Boler is definitely at the back of the pack in terms of knowledge of the game. And that’s what matters most, IMO. You dudes who elevate him because of some other criteria (which he’s actually super average at, or worse, across the board) are pretty lol.

For the record, I’ve listened to more of other broadcasts than I have listened to ours over the past 2 or 3 seasons. Probably a 55-45 split.

color for sure though I’m told he’s a got an old school way of calling the game... him and hot rod had a few beers back in the day. Hot Rod made it to the good place of course but Satans a big fan of his... who isn’t.

The only problem is that he couldn’t call any Jazz games as he would melt in the presence of Joe Ingles.
 
My favorite part about Boler fanboys is their greatest retort is usually along the lines of "he's doing the best he can, and it could be worse!". Lolz.

I actually understand attempting to be mediocre and just getting by for your average job and worker. I get it because desk jobs/corp work is hell on earth and people are just trying to get by. But this the entertainment industry and to me you should be entertaining and/or getting better, and at the very least be passionate about it. Boler fits none of these criteria.

I'm pretty sure the song "The Devil went down to West Virginia" is an accurate depiction of Hot Rod's teaching him a thing or two about play by play. How could he not be a Hot Rod fan after that?
 
No way, I was stuck with the Thunder feed last night and watching the highlights today with Boler's voice is 1000x better, it's his voice. Those thunder guys are a snooze fest, no character... Boler and Harping are really good. Y'all don't know.
