There is talk here that Fizz may be gone after the twenty game mark. Our glorious GM and team Prez say they break things down in ten game increments (or should I say 10 game excrements?). Well, after twenty we should have a record of 5-15. Fizz could be on his way out. (I don't want that. This debacle is no way on him.)
Well, we are playing San Antone Saturday night. The buzz around here in NY is that it would almost be an interview/audition for Becky Hammon. The word around NY is that to put up a smokescreen for all this bullcrap that surrounds the Knicks, a bold, progressive move is in order and hiring Becky Hammon as our coach could be that move. Our douche bag owner Dolan would get a repieve from his usual hate, and the Knicks will be a big story not just on basketball/sports networks. News outlets would cover the Knicks. Front page headlines. Features on "60 Minutes." The works.
And Ms. Hammon can coach. I saw her win the Summer League title three years ago. She runs a good team. She has the know how. She would be a blast in New York and she has the NY experience down cold (she played her WNBA career here with the Liberty).
Lakers and Knicks would be the most talked about and most covered teams in the NBA. That's a good thing for the league in general. I like Fizz, but I surely would welcome Hammon. (If not her the other buzz seems to be around Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. I'd rather roll the dice on Hammon.)
