Lowe Post Jazz Stuff

Mitchell’s performances over the past ten games are starting to feel like a over-sized version of the heartbreak I felt with Rodney Hood. Remember when he showed flashes of high-level PnR play, only to later develop a crippling case of tunnel vision? Yeah, we’ll DM is showing me the latter lately. Stock plummeting on the short-term.

Don't overcomplicate things. The major issue for this team is that we don't have a PF, which is why Quin has to keep experimenting those strange lineups that will never work.(i.e. Jeff Green at the 5, Royce at 4, Bojan/Ingles at 4, etc) Anything else is irrelevant. Acquire a NBA level PF from somewhere, and we will go right back into contention

I think Mitchell can be a top 10-15 player. He might flirt with being in the 8-10 range. He's probably top 15-20 right now. But he's predominantly a volume scorer somewhat similar to a Kyrie Irving, imo. I'm not sure he's ideally the #1 option on a championship team. I think Mitchell, Rudy and Bogdanovic could be #2, #3 and #4 on a championship team though. I just think that big, athletic wings dominate the league, and the Jazz don't have one.

Mitchell's an all star caliber player. Potential to be a top 10 player. I admit he's missed some passes and chucked a little. However, before this road trip he was pretty effective and efficient I expect him to rebound and only get better. So many DM haters on here.

It's amazing how quickly fans turn on players.

Donovan is the best young talent we have ever had. We brought in Conley to help Donovan, and he has done so much of the opposite. The summer strain of the world championships has taken their toll. We seem mentally fatigued.

Right now, we just aren't clicking. We aren't gelling. I think eventually, we will figure it out. Gobert needs to set screens, get the lob when it's there but don't whine for his touches. Conley needs to step up. Bojan learn the offense a little better. Quin coach better.

Donovan has to play better, but he is our future. He is a badass. Don't turn on him.

People aren't "DM haters" by criticizing his play. We are all glad and grateful for him. I've been buying his shoes like a beast lately but that doesn't mean I can't call him a chucker at times or when he bull dozes into the lane to get a turnover/get his shot blocked at least once a game

I agree. I had hope during his rookie year but he just hasn't quite progressed the way I thought he would.

To start the season he looked like he had made great progress and his shot selection was much better. I think he's been much better on defense this year too... he's progressed incrementally like I thought, but to get to superstar/top ten guy he needed a leap.

The good thing is I think he can get there or close to it... and I think shot selection and reading the defenses better is the key. His shooting has improved across the board, his rebounds are up, his defense is better, and his turnovers are down quite a bit. His assist numbers are the only item that has dipped and I think a couple of those shots turning into passes will go a long way. We've also played the tougher defenses so I expect all of his numbers to come up a bit. He just can't get into chuck mode... I think its when he's struggling or the team is and he tries to shoot out of it. I think its a weird mental fatigue kinda thing.

I feel like he can basically get a pullup three whenever he wants... and he's shooting it fairly well I think if he swapped a couple bad shots for that okay shot that it makes a big difference. I still think there is a superstar top ten player potential in there when you consider both sides of the ball.

Its just hard to be his size and enter tgat echelon
There is a lot of truth to this. I think Dame and Steph are there and DM is still in line with Dame's career arc. Not as good of a passer. I wish DM was more explosive off one foot because I think he'd be so much more effective. If he was I'm guessing he would not have fallen to late lottery... so likely not on our roster.

I don't know what "position" suits him best but I do think he'd benefit from having a backcourt mate that was bigger than him... might allow him to get some better matchups. Ricky didn't scare defenses... I think a guy like Derrick White would be really good next to DM... sigh.
