2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

Why would they trade him though? And why would they trade him for anything we could offer?
Cuz Bertans will be a free agent in the summer and Wiz is still trying to figure out if they wanna go the full rebuild because they technically still got the Wall/Beal duo to stay competitive but Wall’s injury history is a huge concern.

If they don't see Bertans as part of their future, they may wanna maximize his value by the trade deadline. Ed Davis(who is on a very team friendly contract for 2 yr, enough for the Wiz to figure out what to do when Wall comes back next year) + picks may get it done. We've got Bradley who can cover at the backup C position.

Doesn't he have a horrendous shot? Like Dante bad?

Kidd-Gilchrist shot form is about as ugly as you'll ever see, yes. He has had a few seasons where he shot a decent percentage from 3 on a low amount of attempts (43% on 1 3 attempt per in 15-16, 34% on 0.7 attempt per in 18-19). But he's not a shooter.

I think that's fine though. The idea in theory is that he would add athleticism, defense, rebounding, hustle in the minutes where Niang is providing nothing.

Another thing is that he's a 26 year old former #2 overall pick who has been on one bad basketball team for his entire career. He'll never be a star but maybe there's still some potential there. Maybe simply being on a good basketball team with good players would change some things.

I'd rather play Niang.

he can shoot

We run no plays to get him open 3's. So it does not matter. He takes 1.8 threes per game and only makes 0.7 per game.

Meanwhile...

He sucks on defense. 109 DRtg.

He can't rebound. Only 5.4 Drbs per 36

He does not create extra possessions. 0.1 Orbs per game, 0.2 Orbs per 36, 0.6 Orb%. 0.0 steals, NONE in all of his minutes all season. 0.1 Bpg

He's a non factor inside the arc. No post game, no drive game, does not draw fouls or get to line.

Commits boneheaded fouls

0.5 ast/0.5 to

-55

We're playing him for 0.7 threes per game when he's such a negative everywhere else? C'mon. He gives us nothing bro

Here’s my full makeover:

Conley for a Kevin Love.
Exum/Ingles for OPJ

Donovan / Mudiay
OPJ / Royce
Bojan / Oni
Love / Green
Gobert / Davis

Bring up the two two-ways.

Or...

Conley for OPJ
Exum/Bradley for Morris

Mitchell / Mudiay
Ingles / Royce
Bojan / Oni
OPJ / Morris
Gobert / Davis

I've been saying I like JWF's potential. I could see the Knicks asking about him. He played college ball in Long Island, and to be honest, I think he's better than Dennis Smith Jr.

Can you trade two-ways?
