What's new

Tell me more about how this isn’t happening?

That's actually true. Marcus Morris really did want to be a Knick. Just ask Pop and the Spurs. During free agency Morris gave one of those letters of intent that he would sign with the Spurs for $20 million. Spurs actually made moves (a trade) to then make room for Morris and then Morris chose to go to the Knicks...for just 15 mill. He would rather play here for less than for the Spurs. Go figure.

Made for a rather weird after-game meeting. Supposedly Pop forgave him.

It is actually understandable why Morris chose Knicks. Morris only was going to sign a one year deal for either team. Well, here in NY he can shine (he is) and up his contract for next season.
His plan is working pretty well. Rather than get $20M over two years, he gets $15 for one year, gets to be "the guy" on the Knicks, and earn himself more than $10M next year on a longer-term deal. Hopefully he gets traded to Utah before that.

Nobody wants to be a Knick, even the 15 dudes on their roster don't want to be Knicks.

This is soooo true.

Oh, they want to be here when they first join. All smiles over being here. But then the reality sets in.

At the very end of every Knick game (and this has been going on for years) there is a camera shot that I wait for. It is the camera panning across the Knick bench and we get a look at all our guys as they have suffered through another 20 point loss. Heads are down, stunned looks of disbelief, embarrassment, despair...each guy shows a different variation of the same thing. That camera pan is my favorite part of watching Knick games. Some fans of teams like to see the high fives after their team wins, us Knick fans wait for that camera pan showing all our guys displaying "what the f**k is going on and what the f**k am I doing here" looks.

Point is, every guy on the Knick bench wants out after about eight games. I am not kidding. Porzingis is the perfect example. Foreign born player loving the NY experience, adored by Knick fans, All Star...and even he wanted out. I am telling you this, our 1st round pick RJ Barrett already knows he has to get out of here. Play well, pad his stats, and get the hell out as soon as he can.

Oh, yes, he does.

Save your post. You will see how wrong you are.

We all know here in NY that Donovan Mitchell is coming here. Just like those in Los Angeles knew LeBron was going there, we know Mitchell is coming here. His ties to New York are far too strong.
Okay now that you’re jumping in I’m not sure I’m right lol.....maybe he’s not.

Donovan wont be a jazz player his whole career, he likes the fame and unfortunately utah can get him so far.
For him to make more money and be recognised he has to be in New York, los Angeles, miami, Brooklyn

No, he doesn’t have to be, but I think he already wants to be. He’s actually someone with the personality to be marketed from anywhere just fine.

If I grew up I would love the Knick's. He likely loves all the NYC teams. Who cares? He's professional, he plays hard, he plays well and he is a personality. There a probably a couple things he hates. Being away from family. The bland culture. I don't know but I am guessy.

But you know Donovan is awesome. He is a joy to watch. He is like the super hot girlfriend who loves to be with you. Enjoy your time. It will be great. But one day he may leave. That's the working right that he has. He can make a choice. It his dreams to fulfill not mine. But he has been and will continue to be awesome even that he loves the Knicks like the rest of 1/3 of the country does (which is totally fine with me).

Though oneye’s stuff has been a bit extreme and he’s taken a lot of heat, I don’t think we should be so quick to discount a number of things he’s bringing up. I had been talking to a guy whose brother works for a private firm in NYC. One of the clients they represent sits on the board for MSG, but he’s on a smaller committee made up 2-3 other board members that is specifically over the Knicks and acts as a sort of unofficial go-between for Dolan and the FO, since there’s some tension there. He holds some sway as they’re trying to rebrand the image and have a bad hand dealt with current ownership. Anyway, the firm represents this guy individually (i.e. they don’t represent MSG or the Knicks) and some of his separate business holdings. He runs a NY-based porn site. Apparently it’s common knowledge in the firm that Donovan is a paid subscriber to this porn site. They’ve been saying that it makes sense, that SLC doesn’t really produce much porn, and that Donovan will probably want to be eyeing a bigger market as soon as his contract is up. Word is they believe the Knicks hold a lot of leverage because the exposure he could get in the market, that a lot of back room deals could be made outside the CBA that could feature him landing some headlining roles in big porno flicks that have international influence. It’s just not comparable when he’s looking at some local market Subway commercials in Salt Lake vs. blockbuster porn films that could double his income if he goes back home. Not to mention the exposure this could give his brand as he reaches markets outside basketball that may develop interest in his shoes and apparel.

If you’re not able to see the writing on the wall, perhaps you will when Spike Lee releases Donovan Does Dallas [in New York].
Had me in the first half ngl
