Utah Jazz former player updates-How are our bro's doing?!

How is Jerebko doing? We need a PF and the guy is a PF. We have Niang taking a chunk of our PF minutes right now and I bet he is at least better than Niang

Looks like analytics are garbage. You fans were always tearing down Burks and Rubio. May the problem is the system that rewards and encourages lazy three point shooting over playing basketball. Look three point shooting isn't bad it just shouldn't be what our offense is based on. Look at how we are currently treating Mudiay and Exum. ... to be continued

There is nothing wrong with basing your offense on three point shooting. But there is everything wrong with basing your offer on three point shooting WITHOUT multiple elite shooters. Your opponents gonna want the likes of Crowder, Rubio, Jeff Green, Exum, Mudiay, Niang to shoot as many threes as they want because they knew that is not gonna hurt them in a 7 game playoff series. Maybe one or two games, but not seven.

You are spot on with the rest of that post, but I wanted to address this line in particular. The NBA adjusts, so I wonder if it has or will reach a tipping point where the mid-range game is seen as more effective. With all the defenses geared towards taking away the 3-pt and giving away 2-pts that aren't dunks--there is probably a window of opportunity there. Some coach or GM will discover a way to exploit it.

Hoopshype says the Pelicans are shopping Derrick Favors. I wonder which team out there is in need of PF/back up center help?

Jazz gave him to Pellies for two 2nd round picks (the Warrior 2021 and Warriors 2023). Watch the pelicans flip him for a first.

The math is too hard to overcome... free throws, inside the paint, three pointers are the most efficient ways to score. Unless a player shoots 55% in the midrange and is able to leverage those shots to get free throws, layups/dunks, and threes it will never be something to base a good offense on... can it be a component of a good offense? Yes, but the basis? nah. Warriors leverage there three point shooting and passing to being the team that scored the most in the paint. Not sure the midrange can stretch the defense enough to get that.

He has missed 14 out of 23 games... I doubt he gets a first unless they take on serious salary commitment.

Also, we essentially got two seconds and Bojan for him, because if we pickup that option we can't sign Bojan.

Whoever takes Favors has got to manage his minutes. He can't fill a 30+ minutes a night role.

Maybe give them Exum and Davis, play Mitchell more at the point and keep Favs around the minutes he played last year. That would be a huge win imo.

That is why I said Crowder is hugely underrated. Not a good shooter by any means, but he can do all the physical work which no one else on our team is currently capable of doing. It is a combination of Favs and Crowder on our PF rotation last year which allowed Rudy to do his thing and propell us into the playoff. Now this season Crowder and Favs have been replaced by Jeff and Niang(Royce and Bojan are not PFs). Nothing but softness on the court at all time.

We could have signed Bojan if we didn't take on Conley's contract couldn't we? I may be wrong on that.

yes... rumors were that bringing in Conley was what swayed Bojan... but my spider sense tells me it was about tha dollas. PG would have been tough to fill unless we routed the assets we used for Conley to Milwaukee for Brogdon

AB went up against favors last night. Both played well.
Burks played 30 minutes, 7-13 from the field, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 turnover, 18 points
Favors had 10 and 10 on 5-8 shooting with 2 blocks in 27 minutes.

The Jazz are the #1 3 point shooting team in the NBA at 39%.
