What's new

The Jazz are BACK

He mentions Conley... explicitly

He specifically talks about Gobert. There's no reason why if Rubio had still been with the team that he wouldn't have mentioned him. He was merely citing players on the roster but goes into detail about Gobert. I think we're looking waaaaayyyyyy too into things by claiming that Conley was the reason why he chose this team over a quote where the only person he goes into detail discussing is Gobert.

But sure, whatever makes ya'll feel like this Conley trade wasn't a terrible move.

By changing reality to fit your narrative after it's been disproven.

How so? He didn't cite Conley as the reason why he came. I'm sorry, I guess I'm looking for something more explicit? Again, I think you're looking into things waaaaayyyy too much. The only player he actually discusses is Gobert. If Conley's acquisition was really that impactful, wouldn't you think he'd say more about it? He didn't and instead went into detail about Gobert being the defensive player of the year.

But sure, whatever makes you feel better about the Conley deal.

Dude... come on. Conley was a franchise player for the last 5-10 years. Rubio's been a unique, intriguing player that is the punchline as often as he's praised.

i dont disagree. I get the reasons why we pulled the trigger on the trade. However, I remember reading several posters on this very site who had concerns about his size, age, and contract. All these concerns have been validated by Conley’s horrific play.

Ehh, yeah, he did. It's a team sport.

You asked for proof and got it, but you just want to dig your heals. That's fine, and again, very Thriller. That's fine. You can have the last word.

Ive seen that quote before. So while you think you “got me” and that I’m digging my HEELS not heals, it’s just not true. I’d read that quote before and it never stood out to me that he decided on coming here because of Conley. I always just read it and saw he mentioned Conley (would’ve been rubio had he still been here. Or jingles had Rubio and Conley not been here) and Mitchell but goes into detail about Gobert. Which I construed as being more impactful because Gobert offsets Bogie’s defensive and rebounding weaknesses (as the article alludes to).

So again, I think you’re looking far too much into that quote in order to justify that trade.

They’ve played bad enough and for quite a long stretch for me to get on board yet. I’ll cautiously wait to see if the energy is still there during a few more games and to see how Conley is merged into this “new look”.

I think there's too much vibrato in her delivery. Any other opera afficionados here? Porgy and Bess was written to attract a more mainstream audience and her delivery appeals more to the opera purists.

As an opera musician I agree with you, her vibrato is too wide at times, especially for that sort of music. Now that is the post I have never imagined I would be writing here.
