Also disregarding a player's negative defensive impact in one game is a terrible barometer.

Even with scoring 9 in 12 minutes, he still managed to give away more than what he returned as positive impact to the team.

This is also not 'one game'. This is a consistent situation throughout the whole season, in which he has earned himself the most negative player on the team connotation. This is with a player on your team by the name of Ed Davis who hasn't been an NBA player this year.

Quin Snyder had his head in his hands on Niang's defensive lapses. And he also got yanked.

Even still HH, is this what we would call a good game by Niang? He was all kinds of horrific on defense. As much as I am thankful for his 100 percent three point shooting, his defense cemented his negative result. Why are you choosing to disregard his defensive effort today?

Does it only take some solid offense to think a player played well? If so, then you've set a precedent HH. Let it then be that if Dante for example, hits a few shots but is a complete negative on defense, we can still say he had a good game.

You know what the fact is mate? If this was Dante, I would be furious with his defensive output, and would still recognize he had a bad game overall.
