Jazz at Clippers

Is our missing piece a dynamic 4 or a serviceable 5?

At this point I feel like getting a serviceable 5 like Shaqin a Fool McGee, Baines, DeAndre Jordan, Favors, Zubac, would improve us more than getting a dynamic 4, even if it’s a super dynamic 4, like Griffin.
I think you use him like Favors but play him more minutes.

DM was phenomenal tonight... joes on an effing heater...JC was solid but after the preseason Jeff green crush I developed I will go a lot slower before I decide if I like him... one thing I do know is JC is a hugger... couple weirdly timed hugs... I’m here for it though.

For everyone worried about Conley coming back...

Him back means Royce goes to the bench, which means Royce will eat up some of Niang’s minutes at the 4. Also with Conley back, he’ll get some burn with our bench units, and Mudiay’s minutes will go down.

Conley makes us deeper, top to bottom, and allows us to reduce the minutes of Ingles and Donovan, not to mention two other guys that need their time on the floor minimized.

Royce off the bench means he spends less time guarding the elite players, which means Bojan or Ingles has too, which in turn wears them down more. The two best teams in the West (Clippers/Lakers) don't even have PGs who need to be guarded but have big wings/forwards who do.

I'm not saying Mike's bad, but we look awfully thin at the 4-5.
Sure, but we're not trading Mike Conley. If he's good enough to get someone like Blake Griffin, he's good enough to help this team win. If he's bad enough or "doesn't fit" nobody is going to give what we need for an old washed up PG.

This is stupid logic. Trades would never happen if this is how you evaluated potential/proposed deals.

Tristan Thompson is at the top of my wishlist for a player to get, but I have no idea how that can happen without dealing Clarkson or Conley. He just makes too much money.

For waving a towel from the bench hopefully soon enough.
Forbid Niang from putting on warmups and any time he’s on the bench, make him stand up looking like he’s ready to receive a pass. Let him space the floor from the bench. At least for half of the game that could work.

No it's not it's common sense. We're not trading Conley, a guy we've valued for a long time for penuts, and were not getting Blake for him. Just because he struggled while the rest of the team also struggled doesn't mean we're going to just trade him. Now that's stupid Madden logic lol. Laughable really.

Maybe he hits the waiver wire.

I highly doubt it. They can get something for somewhere even if it's just matching expirings with some 2nd rounders thrown in.
I dunno. He’s making $18M. Which team has that in expirings that needs his services?

To your point: playoff teams that can even cobble together the matching salary and have such assets are going to be gunning for Iguodala and Gallinari.

Really curious about Iguodala. Someone is going to get him at age 36 and after he hasn’t played in a year.
