Go get Baynes

As HH said, the salaries don't work. But the salaries that DO work is Davis, Bradley, and NWG for Ariza. Then go sign Noah or Bogut.

Conley
Mitchell
Ingles
Bojan
Gobert

Clarkson
Royce
Ariza
Bogut/Noah
I have watched a lot of Kong’s this year... Ariza is toast... washed... no thanks.

There is a chance we could land Baynes but it isn’t until right at the deadline and Phoenix needs to be out of it for the 8 seed. They might go the other way by adding vet talent because they really want to show progress.

No idea. How does he compare to Niang? And who are our bench upgrades this year?
He’s worse imo... but Niang is my best friend so I can’t evaluate without bias.

Ariza has looked bad on defense... he looks out of shape and disinterested... I havent looked at his shooting percentages but I’m guessing they are bad. I would have had interest preseason and now have zero interest... cashing checks of off reputation at this point.

As our resident Kings watcher, where do you stand on the Harry Giles debate? It seems almost a lock that he won't be with the Kings next year. Do you think he'll be physically able to hold up in the future? Is he worth looking at for FA in the summer, or even a trade before the deadline?

I think he's broken. He was okay when he was on the floor last year, but nothing special... I honestly haven't seen him at all this year. He was really aggressive defensively which is good and bad... can't foul that much and be that predictable... chasing every block is one of the things that makes Whiteside a below average defender.

Thanks. It sounds like there's a very good chance he's broken from what I've read, as well. The idea of him sounds good for the Jazz, with decent athleticism, some scoring potential, a good motor, and a well-above-average passing game. But his fouling is as bad as Bradley or (what I imagine, based on the G-League) Morgan. He'd probably have to be given a lot of time before he ever becomes an actual plus-player. And given his knees, that's just unlikely to work out.

They didn't pick up his option for next year, so I'm sure he's super available if we wanted to go get him. He'd make more sense as a prospect big man than Bradley does imo. He's had some good moments... I think we need more of a sure thing, but if they wanted to swap Bradley for him I'd do that.

I think this is dead-on. In my mind, you put Baynes on the back burner while pursuing a different answer for a decent NBA big in the meantime, and if nothing materializes by the deadline and the Suns are indeed obviously out of it, go after Baynes hard.

A pick-and-pop big would be really great to have, though. Seriously game-changing, especially for Conley and especially if Conley inherits the nominal starter and backup PG role.

Like you start making weekly or twice weekly calls to say hey now... and then put a big push at the deadline... you also ask whats up with Saric too... Do they want to pay him? Maybe they'd like a Mudiay for Jevon Carter swap...

I don't think we have anything particularly appealing to them, but I keep checking in cuz they have some nice parts and they are Phoenix... Phoenix does weird things.

If DL is as serious about his approach and craft as claimed, then he'd be doing all the leg work now. He'd realize the quickest way to Vlade's heart is through his lungs, and DL would be having bi-weekly smoke breaks with him, even if only over facetime. If DL doesn't smoke, now's the time to pick it up.

For who, though? If you're about to say Bjelica, you're speaking my language.
