Figure we start a thread for all Utes related stuff going into the season

John White will start at RB and I'm really excited to see this guy in person for the first time. His backup will be Tauni Vapapunka. Looks like Langi will probably redshirt.

We are going with 3 Fullbacks - Luke Matthews, Dalin Rogers, and Shawn Asiata all named as starter.

Wasn't Luke Matthews a WR at one time?

The Langi issue is an interesting one. A 4 star recruit that was being offered by Stanford, USC and BYU (at one time or another, depending on who you ask) and yet he's having trouble landing in Utah's 2-deep. Hopefully that means J. White is a beast. However, if White/Vaka end up getting dinged early on, I would suspect that Langi will not be redshirted. If Utah really wants to focus on a downhill running game during their 1st year of Pac12 play, odds are you're going to go through more than 2 RB's.

Utes still have Thretton Palamo who is a beast but needs to learn the game, has probably even more potential than Harvey. If those 3 go down, they still have Lucky Radley along with Karl Williams and an impressive true freshman in Jerrell Oliver. They are stacked at RB. I'd love to see Langi get time but he isn't really needed this year

Forgot about Palamo and Lucky Radly. Actually hadn't heard Lucky's name in a while. I hope the kid gets some burn. Probably the best High School highlight video of any Ute I've ever seen.

Yeh our depth at the RB position is going to be scary for the next couple years

Also our defense has got me excited, I really hope this kid from Snow College - James Aiono was worth the wait, apparently he has been a standout in the practices

Yes he was..I just read up on him and apparently he's going to be in more of a hybrid back type role in Chow's offense and also will used as the third receiver.

If you guys get good production from the RB spot and get to redshirt Harvey, that sounds like a good deal. I wanted him at BYU, but he did seem like a guy that could use a transition year mentally.

I agree. All the talent in the world but I always got the feeling from listening to him that he thought his **** didn't stink. I like the idea of redshirting him.
