If you’ve never been I have some thoughts and a buddy who lives here that gave me some info. I like it here but it’s different than Maui and Kauai.

I’ve been to Oahu twice and the big island once. Big Island last February, Honolulu 6 years ago and then in junior high. Taking everyone. Got a VRBO on the east side. 5 kids. Three 5 and under. Plane ride should be fun.

East side has some cool stuff but has been so damn windy when we’ve been here... we went west side today and it was wonderful. Waikiki ain’t my scene... staying here now then headed to turtle bay rest for a few days... it sounds like what we like so I’m stoked.

We took the kids to Maui last summer... it was pretty fun but I booked us there for too long... figured I was paying a bajillion dollars to get us all there so why not stay longer... at the 4 day mark I was completely disappointed that they wanted to just hang at the condo pool.

That’ll be fun though... kids will be fine on the plane... iPads are a friggin blessing for that stuff.

Our 20 month old will be a lap child. When we went 6 years ago we just had the oldest two. We stayed on the west side on an ocean front VRBO. Was nice but it was really far to go anywhere since we were up by Makaha.
