2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

  • I think the Jazz might move Davis if they can get a rotational frontcourt player back.
I just dont see it happening...youd have to move more, and bradley is getting decent burn rn. Were not getting anything worth a damn. But idk

Who is a center that might be available in exchange for Davis and NWG that has a contract in that price range?

I feel like a bench unit of Mudiay/Clarkson/Oneale/Center addition, would be pretty strong. Then you have the buyout addition, Niang and Bradley who you could bring in situationally depending on matchup.
Meyers Leonard.

I wonder if we could get Marjanović.

Rex Chapman just said on NBATV that he thinks Kuzma's days in LA are numbered. Seemed more like a gut feeling thing than actual reporting though.

I’d be curious what LA would be looking to land if they used Kuzma as a chip.

I can definitely see the Jazz trading Davis, Bradley, Niang, Mudiay and one of the rookies put bring in another major need before the trading deadline. Maybe they let Jeff Green go so that the Jazz can bring Niang's trade value up too.
You’re a bigger idiot than I thought if you actually think the jazz let Green go for the sole purpose of driving Niang’s value up so they can trade him. That might be the dumbest thing ive ever heard. How do you live with yourself?
Conley for Love straight up?
Why in the hell would Cle do that?

1. They’ve drafted pg’s the last two drafts

2. They are rebuilding and he doesn’t fit their timeline.

3. They want assets.
Utah jazz trade mike conley to Detroit, Drummond goes to sacramento, and the kings send us dedmon, bjelica, and bogdan. Thoughts on that?

great trade for Utah horrendous for everyone else

He's pissed because he has a post-up on Chris Paul and Sexton is just dribbling out the clock.
He never posted up you idiot!!

Nothing we’d send back for him.

They mentioned that they want someone who can run the offense when LeBron is out since they really stagnate when he's sitting.
Sounds like they could use Mudiay. Then parlay Kuzma into someone else.

(I don’t really believe Mudiay gets Kuzma)

What @infection said. But also that they are way over the luxury tax.

I think Olynyk is more available.
I’d like Leonard because we cut $8.5M of salary from next year. If we resign Royce and Clarkson, we’re pushing into luxury tax if we use the MLE. This alleviates that pressure.

Then why did you waste your time writing it, something you don’t believe no less.
You’re familiar with humor, sarcasm, or perhaps any of my game threads? I hope you weren’t reading those literally.

1. K. They don’t really have the luxury of picking and choosing right now since they are a dumpster fire. And Sexton is kinda garbage. Perhaps more importantly, multiple teams can be involved in a trade.

2. Conley’s contract saves them $60 million AT LEAST, and given how big of a dumpster fire they are, I could really see Conley bolting which would save them another $35 million.

3. $60-$95 million is an asset. His salary is so hard to match that they are going to have to seriously budge just to get off the money. The most they will get as an asset is a fake 1st-rounder. Given how bad things are going, they should take the first thing that isn’t terrible and run.

Focus on the words "might" and "if" there. They're kind of important to the context of what I was saying. I wasn't making a definitive statement that we'll trade Davis for something really good. I was saying that if the Jazz have an opportunity to move Davis for a rotational piece that fits, they might. Yes they may have to add more.

Im regards to the implied idea that nobody would want Davis... we should use caution. People here were saying forever that Dante Exum was completely and entirely untradeable and there was absolutely no chance whatsoever we could get anything for him. That was false. Sometimes as fans we tend to overvalue our own guys and sometimes we tend to undervalue them.

Right. But I’m not sure why Miami does that. We can’t just keep trading garbage for NBA players AND getting off bad money simultaneously. It’s not realistic.
