Sounds like a coach trying to butter him up to coming. Big surprise there... I like Mitchell but I would be a little shocked if he is an MVP. The only place it could happen is with the Jazz and that would require winning the NBA championship and then the next season being the number 1 seed. He isn't winning an MVP for New York. If new York becomes a good team with Mitchell joining them it's because 2 other stars also join the team...
New York is not becoming a good team anytime soon, probably not this decade.
The likelihood that coach will still be employed by the Knicks in a few years isn’t too likely lol. Donovan’s close with Houston their Assistant GM, Donovan’s dad has a relationship with their FO. I would actually very much guess there’s a little chatter/know of who DM actually is around the Knicks due to relationships vs the PR master he is to the fanbase he panders to.
If he wants an option on the last year of his next deal or it isn’t 5 years that’s a bad sign. Also a signed contract seems to mean very little, and as I said this push/distraction will start much earlier than that especially with NY media and even more so if they feel there’s actually something there.

So in a round about way, you're saying it hasn't started from the NY media side and they don't yet see it, yet you see it.
I don’t think the signals are mixed at all, I just think there’s more reason to believe exactly what I’ve said.
They’ve already touched on it but in a couple more seasons it will get far more heavy, especially if there’s something to it. There is.
And worrying about it will change what? You should just enjoy now. If it happens, it happens. Simple as that. Why worry about it when you cant do anything?
