All time wasted NBA talents ?

You guys forget one of the best of all time. Sam Bowie... drafted ahead of Michael Jordan. The fact no one remembered him tells all.
Bowie had a couple good years, but he was hurt at Kentucky and then had the same issue when he got to the NBA.

Tracy McGrady. Had special talent and athletic ability. Wasn't cut down in his prime by injuries. But never won a play-off series (not counting San Antonio where he was a non-factor).

For the Jazz I would put in Luther Wright. He was as big as Shaq and would have been a better center for the Jazz than Ostertag for those finals runs. A cocaine addiction and basically quitting as soon as he got drafted ruined what could have been a clincher for a championship.

Sam Bowie injuries kept him from reaching his potential. Dude broke his leg by walking around during a pregame

Definitely, Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway. Hill was like a Jordan-lite type player. I forgot how good he was at the beginning of his career, and it was only for a couple seasons. Shaq and Penny with the Magic was exciting. When Shaq moved on to the Lakers, it would be interesting to see whether Penny could have been the sole, primary star.

Grant Hill almost died from a Staph infection, it's a wonder he was able to come back and be as good as he was.

John "Hot Plate" Williams had game but stress and depression led him to eating himself out of the league.

Darius Miles could have been the best player from a terrible draft but injuries ruined a promising career.

Steve Francis was supremely talented but didn't have his head on straight.

I was recently surprised to learn that Ben McLemore was still in the league, career has been so underwhelming. Jay Bilas said he had the highest ceiling, most likely to be all star from that class:
