Lol, China doesn't care about what I write or say. People here bash on things they don't like with the government all the time. No big deal unless you're trying to start something big.
I think the numbers are higher as well. So do most Chinese people. The number one thing people are asking for here is accurate information. I think the local governments are much more to blame though. Honestly the Wuhan mayor is the most responsible for this out break. He did a lot is things including trying to keep the big Chinese New year celebrations going through this. I think the incorrect numbers are due to local leaders. They don't want to look bad and are trying to save face. I'm glad they finally shut down wuhan. The airport I just landed at is checking everyone and if you are from certain areas they are quarantining them. Private citizens are setting up stops for cars. If they see plates from Wuhan they are stopping them and telling them to leave.
Still not sure this is any worse than the flu in the USA and other places though.... I doubt this kills any where near the number of people the flu did in the USA in 2018. But maybe if it gets much worse. China cities are huge...

In china if you have the flu and die at home it doesnt count as a flu related death, they chalk it up as complications.

That is true. The numbers reported for the flu are much lower than reality in China...
The flu killed 80,000 people in the USA in 2018. 10% of the country gets the flu Do you think this will be worse in a country with 3x the population? You think it will kill more than 240,000 people?
That guy said there is no reason to panic and just follow normal precaution you'll be okay.
I think you are creating some imaginary argument that I'm saying China is doing things right.

I read an article Friday that was comparing this to the Spanish Flu of 1918. It infected at least 500 million, about a 1/3rd of the world's population at the time. Approximately 11% of everyone infected died, around 50 million. It took into account today's population and estimated if as wide spread and infectious, close to 200 million people will die from this virus.

The death toll now rises to 80. I don't believe those numbers but it is what it is. RIP to these people as well, their families and friends are suffering too.
