Westbrook out and Harden doubtful vs. the Jazz

I need to take a break from basketball for the week.

Joe was really bad... all of our guards were selfish and if I was Rudy I would have some words with them tonight.

The reason I’m a little extra upset with Mike is he was supposed to be this savy vet... he’s played like garbage. It isn’t just missing shots... it isn’t just the system... it’s the awful turnovers... he mishandled a ball and one he slipped but he also just had an awful ****ing pass... it was an easy read.

His defense is adequate... it’s not great... his value is very much on the offensive end and he’s been really really bad.

Yeah, he committed some bad TOs. Maybe Quin needs to get him some easy looks to increase his confidence? I have no idea.

No this isn’t on the refs at all... they had some bad calls but we let them blow by or shoot pull-up jumpers whenever they wanted... we made stupid *** fouls that got us in the penalty.

We are a good defensive team and let one guy... the only guy we had to stop... get a career high. This was effort and focus... everything else is peripheral.

If we have 52 points in the paint and they have 42 there is no way they get 25 more free throw attempts fairly. Cmon. We had just as much aggression to the rim.

Refs were intentionally giving them free throws to keep them under the -13.5 spread.

The Rockets made some shots. We missed our threes. And the free throw disparity ended up very likely flipping the outcome.

Excuses. He wasn't setting up quality plays. The offense he was running kept turning it over and then he kept fouling. Bad offense led to bad defense.

I have never said anything about his offense. He played terrible, so did pretty much everyone.

before my wife turned on The Bachelor, I saw us make bonheaded turnover after bonheaded turnover. One led to an obvious clear path to the basket foul on Mitchell. Conley had company, but he was just awful. Not sure how mudiay could’ve been any worse.

there aren’t many nba teams who wouldn’t have beat us tonight. Any healthy WC playoff team would’ve beaten us down by 20+. Which makes me concerned. The more Conley plays the worse this team seems to operate. Our offense is quickly reverting back to its October/November form.

I’m with you... tonight was really rough. Exposed like the Pandora’s box of issues we’ve had... Conley sucking... team disconnected... don’t have a backup center and can’t spread the floor with a five out team.

Gonna step away from the inter webs.

I’ll bet we even lost the game on ESPN too... two losses on one night...

Did you watch the game? I’m not sure Rudy had an attempt in the first half... we didn’t even try to get him the ball. We should have had 60-70 points in the paint.

This one is on us... refs were bad but not nearly as bad as us.

There were a LOT of iffy calls one way and noncalls the other, but honestly the Jazz looked a step slow on defense all game.

A lot of Utah's defense this year is predicated on getting set in the half court and that is harder to do when you miss a lot of threes and the other team bolts down the court- it's exactly the kind of thing that can lead to a big freethrow disparity.

That's what it seemed like to me anyway, bad offense leading to bad defense and so on. It also didn't help that we didn't really run much to counter the Rockets switching defense. For now I'm chalking this one up to guys just not getting up for this game, it happens.

Today was his make or break game. The Jazz needed him and he wasn't there. If Quin has a dog house Mike should be sitting in it.

He had 5 fouls in 25 minutes. That's a bad breakdown. His defense wasn't good.

Conley was meh. At least he was disciplined on defense. To be fair, Joe & Royce were atrocious tonight. Couldn't stay in front of Rivers/Gordon. Committed dumb fouls navigating screens (also reaching). Were late on rotations. Even Thabo blew by Ingles a few times. A lot of film by Quin tomorrow morning.

So, why is everyone putting all the blame on Conley?. Yeah, he played erratically on offense but Joe or Royce should not be given a pass. Royce and Joe's perimeter defense on Gordon/Rivers was really bad tonight. Couldn't hit open 3s. Rudy was late to contest open jumpers too (particularly in the first half). Also, the refs were terrible (especially on Bradley). The team played tight and out of sync. Dumb TOs. Just an awful performance.

You're right, Joe and Royce played like ****, Rudy didn't have his best game, hell even Bogey and Donovan had a few boneheaded plays and weren't very good of defense. For the most part those guy's have all been amazing over this incredible run we've been on, winning 19 of 21 games. It would be extremely helpful if our highest paid player could step up and pick up the slack when some of our other guy's have a bad night. You can pretty much count the good games Conley's had this season on one hand.

We showed up expecting them to give us a win... they got hope and were loose so made a lot of shots... we missed a lot of shots and played flat out awful. We played lazy, stupid and selfish AF.

I didn't watch the game, but looking through the numbers, it looked like we should have won, until you see that they shot 49 effing free throws to Utah's 26.

Looks clear as day to me that Adam Silver doesn't want the Rockets falling too far behind. God forbid the league allow James Harden to get bounced in the first round.

Obviously Utah could have overcome the crookedness of a manipulated game had they played better, but every once in a while you see a game that should leave no doubt in anybody's mind that the NBA is not a 100% honest sport.

If he was a good defender I'd be ok with mediocre offense. He was defending Ben Mackelmore and 5'9" Chris Clemons. His defense should've been dominate over those scrubs. His defense was only ok on scrubs.
