Updates on DWill

I hate to think about DWill not on the Jazz. He is a top 10 player in the league. It is hard to let that go. We got some amazing pieces out of the deal and I am really excited about the future of the Jazz. Here is an update about DWill thanks to the Salt Lake Trib:

The two big things that I got out of this. First, his wrist is not yet healed from a surgery he had in April that originally had a rehab timeline of 6 to 8 weeks. That would scare me if I am a Nets fan. We saw first hand how much it bothered him when he would get it banged up.

I don't believe that DWill will ever be a Jazz man while he is still in his prime but I do find it interesting what he says about Utah: "I'm in San Diego most of the time. We've come back a couple times this summer. I'll probably end up buying a house when I'm done. Somewhere in Utah; probably Park City. I love Utah. I just can't stay somewhere year-round. That's why I end up moving in the summer. You've got to get away sometimes." Not many NBA players, let alone ones that arguably are superstars like the state of Utah and want to continue to come back even after they no longer have any actual ties to here.

After reading this article I like DWill even more. Sad that he is gone, but incredibly happy for the future of the franchise.

I heard a rumor that Ms. Williams is none too pleased at the idea of leaving.

Hold onto that cap-space, Greggie.

That would be a dream come true. If Dwill was to come back, without getting rid of any real talent then the Jazz realistically could be contending for a title in 4 years. Of course there are a lot of things that could/do go wrong but a Dwill/Burks/Hayward/Favors/Kanter line up makes me smile.

That would be awesome. I heard a rumor that Stockton was coming back to play PG, and Deron would take the minimum to play SG. Any updates on that?

DWill is currently trying to talk the players union into accepting an offer which is only half of what the owners have proposed. He says he is doing this as a show of good faith because he feels the fans are the most important part of the equation and he doesn't want to let them down. Also, in private conversations he has said he loves Utah so much that he is planning on paying the Miller's in order to play here. If they insist on paying him a salary he's going to donate it all to his favorite charity which finds foster homes for lost puppies.

Well, regardless of all the hilarious lame jokes here, there is some good news.

Deron doesn't hate Utah.

"So your saying there's a chance....."

A couple things, ok several things, have to go the Jazz way for Deron to want to resign, but its not out of the realm. In order of importance this is how it would have to shake down.

1. Dwight Howard declines signing an extension in a s&t with the Nets. Pretty much a gimme.
2. Jefferson gets traded for a quality, veteran SF like Granger. This one is big imo.
3. The Jazz rooks blow up and Utah wins between 40-50, giving him the impression of a pretty big window the next 5 years.
4. Miles and Millsap extended. Neither will ever be all stars, but has excellent chemistry, and friendship, with both.
5. Formal reach out from Greg Miller. Much like Dan Gilbert wrote his open letter to Lebron, Miller will have to pour his heart out on paper how badly he wants DWill back.
6. Devin Harris trade in place. From the Jazz perspective, they'll want to have a deal agreed to in principle. A small factor though, Harris is on a decent contract with only 2 years left.
